Regulation is a balancing of rights. Countries have the right to control their borders, but people have a human right to go where the jobs are. It's not an either-or thing. America is emerging from a fearful period in its history - that's why Republicans have gotten clobbered in national elections. This is a young, confident country willing to take on challenges and do the right thing.

irishwxman: " ... My parents AND my wife, all Irish immigrants, came over here legally, paid ungodly amounts of money to do so ..." Doh! .... And to think I've been paying all these taxes all these years ... Best bet next year: My Mexican drivers' license may come in handy, yet. When the next taxsucker comes knockin', I'll just claim diplomatic immunity start oiling up my Second Amendment rights. (I was just informed that there are no equivalent 2nd Rights in Ireland. ... WTF?)

My question is this, My parents AND my wife, all Irish immigrants, came over here legally, paid ungodly amounts of money to do so, why should the rest of the illegals get to stay here for free? Why should those who openly break the laws of immigration be granted amnesty when people who go about it the legal way are paying out the wazoo. I don't care what country you come from, you come here illgeally? you get sent home. Simple as that.
