Hot Topic Tuesday: Will cancelling Hoboken’s St. Patrick’s Day parade stop drunken “debauchery”?

Will revelers take to the streets regardless? Have you say.

Probably not! Cancel consumption of alcohol in public. It's a criminal offence in Ireland to do so. Though there's a bit of a double standard, because the Irish government doesn't prosecute the sale of alcohol by Off Licences. Prosecute the suppliers, not the consumers.
I wouldn't be surprised if 3/3 has more problems in Hoboken than even the year before. People will have a chip on their shoulders towards the Hoboken Government. The Mayor should've looked at the revenue for her citys businesses, the citys profit from these fines and enjoyed a day of celebration. It's obvious this Mayor has a high opinion of herself by doing this meanwhile the public opinion is what counts will think she's nothing more than a "Horse's Arse"
Is there Anything GOOD about the festivities that you could report on?
Well the Parade in Dublin is on every year and i know they have a massive clean up the day after, i have been there and they seem to continue to have a parade and about a five day party they make a lot of money and do not complain about the assinine drunks so whats a matter with the city of Hoboken, cant they deal with the Stupid part of thier constiuancy? As every other city does.
This is sad since it cancels what should be a cultural demonstration of pride in heritage for a day of debauchery. I blame the 'plastic Paddies" who are either not Irish or Irish in name only and those whose only interest in green is making a buck. I also blame those who revere their heritage, but don't have the courage to stop these idiots. This is like replacing Midnight Mass with an Office Party. Mike McCormack
Think about it Which would promote more drunks-A Parade/ or a Pub Crawl? DUH! Just Sayin!
