God, I hope so!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I suspect the Republicans are digging about among candidates who are unelectable; they have become so competitive about their social Taliban views that they are dogwhistling only at the weird gallery among Republicans and forgetting that the Presidency is a national institution requiring a national caucus. Every mad dogwhistle at the Taliban Republican or corkscrew christians is another small tick to the democratic engine for Obama's re-election. In truth it doesn't matter who the US President happens to be as no-one gets the White House unless they are owned by corporate America- but given a level playing field on corporate candidates it is certainly possible to lose the White House by appearing more fundamentalist than the Taliban.
Just to add to that post about the Romney ancestors moving to Mexico so they could stay married to their multiple wives. Apparantly the Mexicans thru them out and Romney plans on getting even. If I were a Mexican illegal alien living in the USA, I would leave now.
Obama's re-election is all but assured. The clowns are facing their final curtain call.
He made $250 million at Bain Capital.................. What do these sort of folks do - they buy up companies cheap, trash pension obligations, wiggle out of contracts already in place, cut wages , fire workers etc............. then sell (flip) the companies for hundreds of millions of $$$................. If you think the recession was bad and the middle class is getting the old shaft,..................... you may not have seen anything yet.
Mitt won't win the election. News reporters uncovered that Romney's Mormon great-grandfather, Miles Park Romney, fled the US in 1885 to Mexico to escape prosecution for practicing polygamy. More importantly, Mitt's tax plan would raise taxes on lower-income people to make it possible to cut even more taxes for the very rich. But give him a few days: He'll probably flip-flop on that position like all the rest.
ABO Anybody but Obama Obama is the worst president in this country's history
I will be very happy when the Republicans finally pick their' leading' man. I am getting tired of listening to their endless posturing as to who is the most conservative amongst them and who can blow the most smoke in the name of the 'tea party'. They all want a small government with no regulation of big business. But let us continue to waste billions of dollars in maintaining and expanding our Military Supremacy. Who cares about our infrastructure- we have plenty of bridges and roads even if some become too dangerous to use. And don't worry about the millions of people who cannot afford health insurance, or are excluded by pre-existing conditions. Let them all go to the emergency room and so what if some of them die prematurely. I think the Republican Party is the Super Ego of the One Per centers and the American people will wake up and realize that putting one of them in the White House would be a terrible insult to the Ninety-nine per-centers.
The election can be bought, Obama is raising all sorts of money thus, the problem. The unions will buy the predicency as they see fit, the unions are solidily behind a democratic President. It is going to be really hard to vote in Nov.
acemaker the french tried that system and what followed was a period known as the "Reign of terror".If Romney is the choice he will not beat Obama,he's more likley to shoot himself in the foot. The two party system institutanalises professional politicians and politics becomes polarised. It's just like groundhog day.
First of all say it aint so. All the US needs is another George Bush. Secondly nicomax what have you got against women. I reallize that the Repulicans have some real morons for women running, but they have worse ones in men. I think that a women should be given a chance to be President as long as she isn't republican, they are to much War mungers, and finally acemaker I have been saying the same thing here in Canada, you are lucky you only have to parties. We have so many parties in Canada your next door neighour is probably a leader of one. I agree with you, partisian politics should be taken out and each region have representatives go in and work towards acheiving your needs. Just saying.
Romney's victory speech in New Hampshire about increasing our armed forces was purely political for the large block of retired veterans living in South Carolina.
SeamusMartin, Obama had two years when he had the backing of the congress and the senate and he got nothing done. He is very good at the blame game. The fact is he does not have the experience to be President. He should never have been elected. With regard to the present primaries I wish they would find a different way to go about nominating and voting for candidates. Only two of 50 states have voted and already we are being told by the media and the good old boys of the Republican party that the only one capable of beating Obama is Mit Romney. I want to have a say in the process but by the time we have our primary in California the whole process will be over and we wont have a say as most of the candidates will have dropped out. Mit is not my first choice but I will vote for anybody but Obama. We do not need a third party that would ensure Obama's re election.
Our founding fathers would throw up at the lack of quality running for President. Looks like we are going to get stuck with the world's only living mannequin.
@SeamusMartin- The US does'nt need more parties, it needs to do away with all parties and let evry candidate run on his/her own. Do away with partisan polictics and get something done in Washington
