Melbourne police have appealed for information. A spokesman said: “She wasn’t overly affected by alcohol and we’re appealing for help.

“It’s unknown as to what has happened. We will have better access to CCTV footage from businesses which open today, and if there’s footage then that will be viewed.”

Jill’s uncle Michael McKeon said she had visited family in Drogheda at the beginning of the month.

He said: “Jill is bubbly and well liked. It is worrying for us and the fact that we are here in Ireland and not there, you just feel you cannot do any more to help.

“We just hope that she is found and is okay.”

The young Irish woman was a resident not a holidaymaker her family live in Perth. You're an unsympathetic deadbeat cillowen.
what's wrong with those young Irish who seems to get themselves killed or maimed. Their know it all attitude and none of St Patrick's religion but wanting much craic.
Pointing the finger at this early stage is not helpful. I live about 5 mins drive from Hope street where the last sighting took place. Sydney road is a nightspot area and as usual with these areas it "brings in" some unsavoury people.
ok, let's look at this. The husband woke up at 2am and had a text message from her. - When was the msg sent and where was he all that evening? He then walked to the pub that night and waited till midday to see if she would show up and called all her friends before call the cops? If that was my wife I'd call them within a couple of hours of her missing and I could not get in touch with her. Why keep calling her phone? If she had an Iphone it's traceable to an exact location. Not saying the husband had anything to do with it but his actions are strange. It's a sad case all round.
This doesn't look good. How very sad.
