A rare historic photograph of former president John F Kennedy and his brother Robert was stolen from Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub, in downtown Portland, during last weekend’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
Staff at the Irish establishment said they noticed the photograph had vanished on 18th March.
Gerard McAleese told KGW News Channel 8 he bought the photography 20 years ago from a shop on Market Street, in San Francisco. The back of the photograph in question has the time and place it was taken along with the photographer’s mark. It was taken in Washington DC.
McAleese hopes that the security footage from the establishment will help to catch the thief.
Lucille McAleese, co-owner of Kells told Fox 12 News Oregan that they would offer a $1,000 reward for its safe return.
She explained, “The photo was taken in the 1960s when John Kennedy was president and Robert Kennedy was U.S. attorney general. This photograph was a piece of American history that we love and want back.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Kells at 503-227-4057 or email office@kellsirish.com.

Murph46 never misses a chance to bash the Kennedys, no matter how stupid and uninformed he sounds doing it. Obviously, he needs a life.

This photo was not taken when JFK was President. It is from a Senate committee meeting probably in the 1950s. Bobby was counsel to the committee and JFK was a member, probably the Rackets Committee. Not so rare a photo since it has been reproduced in books.
