Hillary Clinton may visit Belfast later this week during a planned trip to London to offer her assistance to Sinn Fein and the DUP as they continue to negotiate an agreement over the devolution of policing and justice affairs.

Clinton is due to attend a conference on Yemen in London, and The Daily Telegraph reports that she and Prime Minster Gordon Brown spoke on the phone Tuesday about the latest on the the Northern Ireland talks.

“They discussed and took stock of the progress that's been made and the need to make an agreement,” said a spokeswoman about their conversation.

After a long plenary session co-chaired by Taoiseach Brian Cowen and Prime Minister Gordon Brown where leaders and representatives of all parties aired their views, Northern Secretary Shaun Woodward and Foreign Affairs Minister Micheal Martin addressed the press Tuesday night.

“What was remarkable was that as we went around the room and each and every representative was that willingness to want to cooperate and make this work. We don’t underestimate the difficulties, but equally what we have identified is the real space for real progress,” said Woodward.

... i don't think the Labour Party have been that helpful and any hope for further improvement in the North lies with whatever pressure friends of Ireland like Senator Mitchell,The wonderful Clinton duo and remember without Bill we'd be far closer to 1691 than 2010, Peter King, and Joseph Kennedy can bring on Mrs. Windsor's crowd. Ireland unfree will never be at peace was uttered years ago and echoes loudly to this day. It's only the Irish who can make this happen and they will. God Bless us I never thought we could have so many right wing individuals claiming to be Irish. All I can think is they must have succumbed and took the soup. I might have to start praying for them. Tiochfadh ar la.
You better lock up the good China.
keeping the con, ongoing
Can you keep her? Please.
Make her feel at home and throw some Irish confetti her way.
I hope she has something special in the suitcase. The Loyalists are now waiting to see if the Conservatives win the General Election, so they can dismantle everything Labour has achieved alongside that pratt Cameron. If the Tories win, we will almost certainly go backwards 15-20 years. Nobody wants to go there, but it WILL happen.
