Although now aged 80, Rooney has pledged that he will return to work as Chairman of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team, according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

'The first to visit all the counties and various islands"? Rather disgusting that those who came before him did not accomplish this modest task. Hell I have done it on three brief trips to Ireland. I guess life around Dublin is considered more fitting for the ambassadors from the States.
