The 2010 Texas Rose has died suddenly in a Dublin hospital less than six months after she moved to Ireland.

Adrienne Hussey had represented Texas at the 2010 Rose of Tralee International Festival in Kerry.

The community youth worker had fallen ill at her home in the Irish capital on Wednesday morning and died at Beaumont Hospital on Thursday night.

Boyfriend Eoin Treanor, her escort at the 2010 festival, was with Adrienne when she fell ill and was beside her when she died.

Her parents arrived in Ireland on Thursday morning while many of her fellow Roses maintained a vigil at her bedside.

My condolence, R.I.P.
Heartbreaking,
sad RIP
How very sad that a fine young woman like this was taken so young and so suddenly. Yes she is with our Lord now and as three or more are gathered here on this site, we ask, in Jesus' name, that our benevolent God send His grace and His peace beyond understanding to her sorrowing family and friends.
This is truly a heartbreaking tragedy; someone so lovely as Adrienne ripped from the lives of all she touched. My deepest sympathies to her b/f Eoin, her mother and father, family and of course the many friends she made.
RIP Adrienne. You left us way too early. My condolences to her family and friends.
What a tragedy, and a waste. My condolences to her family and friends.
Apparently, it was a brain haemhorrage. :(
Very sad, she seemed to have it all. Sounds like she was a very compassionate person. My sympathy to her family. She is with God, now.
Sad to hear, may she rest in peace.
My deepest sympathies to Adrienne's family and friends. Do we know what brought on the illness?
This is so sad. What a tragic loss of a beautiful young woman. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends.
This is shocking. My sincerest condolences to this young lady's family.
