Heartache as Texas Rose of Tralee dies suddenly in Dublin hospital
Adrienne Hussey had moved to Ireland after 2010 Festival
The 2010 Texas Rose has died suddenly in a Dublin hospital less than six months after she moved to Ireland.
Adrienne Hussey had represented Texas at the 2010 Rose of Tralee International Festival in Kerry.
The community youth worker had fallen ill at her home in the Irish capital on Wednesday morning and died at Beaumont Hospital on Thursday night.
Boyfriend Eoin Treanor, her escort at the 2010 festival, was with Adrienne when she fell ill and was beside her when she died.
Her parents arrived in Ireland on Thursday morning while many of her fellow Roses maintained a vigil at her bedside.

Rose of Tralee Festival manager Oliver Hurley said: “It was with great sadness that we received the news of the untimely death of Adrienne.
“We extend our deepest sympathy to Adrienne’s family, her boyfriend Eoin and to her fellow Roses.”
Originally from Plano, Texas, Adrienne had strong connections with in Dublin and Waterford and worked with at-risk young people, including those on probation or excluded from school.
An Irish dancer since she was four, Adrienne had danced with Gaelic Storm and Frank Patterson and held a masters degree in social work from the University of Texas.
Friend Angelika Eleni said on Twitter: “Crestfallen to discover that my old friend Adrienne lost her fight for life. My memories in her company cannot be replaced.”
