St. Patrick’s Day is quickly approaching, and Guinness is inviting everyone to the biggest party they’ve ever held. By signing up on their website (21 and over, of course), you can add your name to the constantly growing guest list.
They also hope they will break the Guinness Book of Records for largest numbers for a party.
The party is more of a pledge to have a good time on St. Patrick’s Day, as if you needed one anyway. When signing up, you promise to:
“...make St. Patrick’s Day, 3/17/12, the biggest St. Patrick’s Day party so far, by celebrating responsibly with old friends, new friends, friends of friends, and people I’m just on nodding terms with. A Guinness for all!”
The Guinness website also pegs St. Patrick’s Day as "The Friendliest Day of the Year."
To get you even more excited for the big day this year, Guinness offers an array of fun facts about the great black stuff:
-an estimated 13,000,000 pints of Guinness are consumed internationally on St. Patrick’s Day, with 30 percent being in the U.S.
-83 percent of American adults will wear green on St. Patrick’s Day - enough to stretch from California to New York four times
-1 in 161 Americans are named Patrick, which is nearly 2 million more people than the entire population of Dublin
-With going to pubs, parties, or hosting dinners, nearly 64 million adults plan to take part in St. Patrick’s Day celebrations
Make sure to head over to Guinness.com to join in on the fun for St. Patrick’s Day 2012!

As a non drinker whose mother is an alcoholic and as someone who lives in Ireland, I think Im qualified to make that statement. You said in an earlier post that the Irish like to urinate all over the place at the weekend! Surely a confirmation of our p1sshead status in your eyes old man?

IrelandNorth, I completely agree. Drinks companies should be forced to donate to organisations such as The Rise Foundation. Theres way too many p1ss heads in Ireland.

Will they be donating 10% of their profits to charitable causes, like alcohol addiction counselling services for recovering alcohol addicts, whether in Ireland, USA or further afield like the UK. Like other contributers, some of us don't need the corporate permission of the intoxication industry to have a good time. And some of us still can do so without the social lubricant of alcohol intoxication to oil the cogs of our sociability.

Well joan1954 we have seen a lot of water under the bridge,I know you were on the San Antonio committee and I see an assault against the Irish all over under the guise of political correctness.I will have some Guinness and Jamesons ,but I never joined our local Hibernians cause I am basically a maverick!
