  Glen Beck is not a journalist, a columnist, or even a good television "personality". Showing my age but I noticed that he has adopted a blackboard to pitch his conspiracies, wacky notions, and just plain wrong information. Bishop Fulton J. Sheen SJS did this on his popular 50's television show but he was a classical scholar who demonstrated the eternal truths of Aristotilian/Thomistic ethics and cosmology.   Vernon C thinks CNN conjured up this story to lessen Beck's impact, planting a seed hoping it will take hold, the inverse of their high praise for things Obama and liberal. Hey, they can say whatever they wish as they don't have to answer to the public for anything. On the other hand, no thinking person takes CNN seriously, many fewer watch them than FOX. CNN has no Beck, I'd mention their ace but I can't think of one.

  I like Beck very much. FNC may have boosted his profile but I think he has boosted theirs. I have hope when I watch his show. And as for being true or not I believe him because I have not heard anyone explain away what he says. I would prefer when he is away that he uses someone instead of Judge Napalitano to do his show. How can anyone say they dont get hopeful from his show.?And another thing,I read a book a few years before ever hearing about Beck and it was all about The new World order. He tells it like it is.And he is not the only one who makes mistakes on the air. Look at Biden and obama and pelosi.

It should be noted that the only ATTRIBUTED quote from a FOX source had nothing to say about lost advertisers or "doubts" about the value of Beck's show. An executive having a conversation with an on-air personality about the show? Shocka! lol Given the recent comments from the NYT's Bill Keller, it's not surprising that the source for this fake news story is the NYT.   Crazy? I don't think so. Lets see, his main sponsor is GOLD. When do people buy gold? When the world is going to h__l in a handbasket. What does Beck make it seem like the world is doing? Just that, for a new reason de jour each episode. His "SHOW" should be identified for the info-mercial for gold that it really is. On Meet the Press, last year, Roger Als was asked about some of the strange people on Fox that seemed to be touting as factual news, stories that blatantly were "Alien Baby" tabloid stuff and he explained that Fox was in the business of "ENTERTAINMENT" and that "NEWS" on it should be viewed with that in mind. This explains alot - just because Fox and Beck have big audiences doesn't mean everyone watching accepts their rantings as gospel - some of us just watch so that we can roll on the floor with laughter. What worries me is that there are a few people out there that take them seriously. Oh well, someone must be buying the gold - I sold ours and made a great profit. Soon it will be time to sell all the silver I foolishly bought when the Hunts were cornering that market - I might actually come out ahead on that miscalculation after 30 years of waiting.
