The former Fox News conservative pundit Glenn Beck, who made a name for himself by discerning scarifying liberal conspiracies on his evening show, has outraged millions with shockingly mean spirited comments about the bombing and shooting tragedy in Norway.
On his nationally broadcast radio show this week Beck compared the Norwegian summer camp where 68 young people died to Nazi Germany’s Hitler Youth.
Beck was speaking in the aftermath of Friday’s horrifying massacre on Utoya island, where young teenagers were attending an annual summer camp run by the country’s Labour party.
'There was a shooting at a political camp, which sounds a little like the Hitler youth, or, whatever,' Beck told listeners yesterday. 'I mean, who does a camp for kids that’s all about politics. Disturbing.'
Reacting with outrage one former Norwegian official told the Daily Telegraph the comments were 'a new low' for Beck.

'Young political activists have gathered at Utoya for over 60 years to learn about and be part of democracy, the very opposite of what the Hitler Youth was about,' Torbjorn Eriksen said.
Beck condemned the massacre as the work of a madman, but he also approvingly quoted Dutch right-winger Geert Wilders, who claims, Beck said, that 'political correctness and multiculturalism is killing Europe, and he’s right.'
In his rambling manifesto, the shooter Anders Behring Breivik also makes multiple admiring references to Wilders - who has campaigned for years against multiculturalism and perceived Islamic influences. Wilders himself however has condemned the attacks as 'violent and sick.'

I may be a few years younger than you Ed but you must see past the lies and rhetoric of morons like Beck. He operates on the same propaganda system as the nazis"tell a big lie often enough and people will beleive". It is also a mantra of the discredited Murdoch media empire which the Fox network is part of.

It is disturbing to see how so many fellow Irishmen are commenting about Beck when they obviously have not taken the time to listen to the complete text of the comments for which he has been criticized. Where is your traditional sense of fairness and reasoning that has been the mark of Irish scholarship and intellectualism? I am an old man that lived during the 1930s and 40s and saw how much of Europe fell under the spell of Nazi propaganda just as many of you (like present political pundits) are influenced by the propaganda of the far Left. If you are so intellectually challanged that you can not objectively listen to both sides of an issue you are culpably ignorant and not to be taken seriously. There is an old saying, "Better an open mind than a vacant one."

Beck is to be lowered slowly into a tight circle of parents and friends of those young people that were slaughtered. He will know firsthand within the early minutes of his mutilation how people that have suffered horribly react to a doctrine of hate that causes the loss of life to innocent people. there are a lot of Becks around at the moment.

Would anyone expect less from News Corps/Fox News Glenn Beck? This low life speaks vitriol while using religion and patriotism as props to jack up his rating. He has styled himself after another conservative radio low life Rush Limbaugh and is very willing to do the dirty work that the GOP doesn’t want to dirty their hands with. So by saying this outrageous and callous statement about the children killed in Norway he makes the news cycle attracting the other bottom feeders who enjoy this vitriol.
