Black navigation marker. It appears to be further away because the left side coincides with the edges of the boulders.

Looks more like a woman in the typical long black cloaks of the 19th century - why does he say it is a nun? Is there a story behind it?

You never know. My parents wanted to leave all the "superstitions" behind when they left Ireland. But I finally got the story of how my science-educated uncle finally asked the priest haunting the village church what he wanted. The priest was recognized as a priest who had died while serving that parish. Through sign language my uncle understood that the priest wanted to say Mass but needed a Mass server. So my uncle served his Mass in front of the congregation. The priest was never seen again. Or so the story goes, from people who did NOT want that story to follow them to the US.
