@hollabackgurl, I am judging no-one, just making a reasoned observation regarding the unbalanced focus of this newspiece. This is a major newsworthy event due to it's international and profoundly religious dimensions. Catholic teaching on same-sex attraction is actually very sensitive to those who have that orientation. A hardline is taken with anyone who insults or physically attacks our gay brothers and sisters. The Church's insistence on retaining marriage for a man and a woman is not discriminatory against those of same-sex attraction, as it is just support for what marriage has always been, i.e the union between a man and woman which is open to procreation.

So the stadium for this Congress was half empty, the majority of participants were flown in from other countries and the Irish themselves were off watching Ireland play a football match. Will the Catholic Church get the memo that their hardline approach isn't working after decades of abuse scandals and coverups? Don't bet on it.

How is it that "Gays" have no civil rights? I'll answer that: since a strong, well funded homosexual(let's use the proper term instead of a sugar coated euphemism)lobby has badgered and bullied politicians, the AMA....and basically anyone who disagrees with them into redefining a sexual orientation as a newly created class of minority. Even in the face of nature's law, the teachings of every traditional religion and empirical evidence throughout the history of mankind itself. It is hard to argue with those who have lost their ability to properly reason when they have no set of moral absolutes but belong to the church of relativism, where no one is wrong or right and anything goes.

This is typical IC stuff, when it comes to news-reporting about the Catholic Church. It is really online tabloid,journalism at it's worst,that is determined to find as many unfavorable angles as possible to portray events or personalities to do with the Church, rather than report the broader picture in which they are framed. Here we have a unique Faith event that brought thousands of pilgrims to Dublin from every continent on the Earth, and yet here we are faced with a headline that focuses on the protests of a small number of malcontents, who have issues with the reasonable teachings of the Church on marriage. The mind boggles at the preoccupations of some journalists.

Pretty transparent attempt by the gays to silence and intimidate those who disagree with them.

To all LGBT...When God said, "It is not good for man to be alone" He did not create another man!! God created one Man and one Woman and gave them the mandate to be fruitful and multiply. Any two of the same sex cannot be "fruitful and multiply." It's common sense...biologically two of the same species will not make another!! That is what true Marriage is...to be joined in the love for each other and bring the fruit of that love into the world...in other words, children!!

My favourite part of the photograph accompanying the article is the person holding the notice saying 'look me in the eye and tell me I'm not equal'. It's impossible to look him in the eye because of the position of the poster. Oh those gays and their sense of humour!
