The Irish men are too busy getting hammered to take part in this unique Eastern-European Male and Middle-Eastern phenomeon, is designed to convert innocent young women into sec-slaves and prostitutes. Ain't multiculturalism a wonderful thing? Of course it's far too "Politically INcorrect" to proffer this information in Ireland. Accusations of racism and zenophilia by the Irish citizens against loathsome Poles, Latvians, Lithuanians, Nigerians, Iranians, Palestinians and Ukrainians is absolutely verboten and could even get one jail time. Any arrests made for sex crimes by foreign nationals are carefully hidden away and only given the very slightest (no names or nationalities mentioned) coverage in the media. Welcome to the "Real-Deal" Ireland.

Disgusting. If a group of boys are found to have done this to an innocent girl they should be served the death penalty. End of story.

What a load of garbage. Now you're scraping the bottom once again, Irish Central. Have a slight bit of respect for your readers and tell it as it really is - not how sensational you want it to be. What you say is now the norm is NOT NOT NOT the norm - or anything remotely like that - in Ireland. Éamonn, Dublin, Ireland.

Did Dublin O'Shea get the information for this article from the Daily Mail article or the one in the Globe and Mail? Try writing your own articles, Antrim O'Shea. Or like suggested by another, try sobering up first before you plagiarize. That way you will at least get your countries straight. You are probably giving Bythebay fits.

If you read the article, the "data" is coming from research done in London. Why was nothing mentioned about the "Irish research data?" Sounds like this article is shady at best.

It seems after reading this article that the crime that is being used as an example happened in the UK so I'm not sure why they say this is becoming the norm in Ireland? Regardless though the world is becoming a more violent place for kids so as parents it is our RESPONSIBILITY to be involved parents and to teach our children right and wrong and to give them good moral values. Kids also learn by the examples we set for them at home. The old "Do as I say not as I do" doesn't fly anymore and it's just a huge cop out. Our children will learn from our examples and if we are distant uninvolved parents trouble may find our children. Know who their friends are and where they are at and what activities they are going to. Teach them the golden rule of "Treat others the way you want to be treated" and "To get respect you have to give respect, you don't get it because of postion or age you get it because your respectful". In this day and age unfortunetly gangs are a way of life world wide for some kids and adults. We can only stop it by teaching kids right and wrong and teaching them to stick up for others. We have to raise healthy, happy and smart children so they can someday continue that cycle instead of a cycle of violence. We also need to teach our kids to be always aware of their surroundings and teach them self defense. Girls and boys, women and men. So many people walk around with ear phones from their ipods, iphones, etc and they can't hear a thing until it's too late. Plus teach them not to trust electronic communication totally verify information before meeting up with their friends. Common folks this is just common sense for ANY country you live in.

Relax. The author is making it up. Where does the data come from? Secret source? These are all felonies if true, and you can be sure the author made no police reports

Jburnette, teach your female children to not walk alone or go anywhere unescorted? FFS, would you relax! How are kids ever meant to become assertive and independent with that attitude in a parent?

Parents talk to your female children, teach them never to walk alone or go anywhere unescorted. Then teach them how to defend themselves like jabbing the creep in the eyes. It's a last and extreme measure, but hey, if your eyes lead you to sin, pluck them out! Law officials need to get tough on punks who rape women. The death penalty is not to rough or hey -- how about hanging by irate parents?

You're right about the mismatch, Bythebay, but there are plenty of incredulous comments about gang rape on this page. I'm just sayin'....
