Time to take the guns off the streets. Time the NRA to pull in it's head. How many deaths doe's it take before common sense prevails. No other western nation allows such weaponry on the streets no other western nation has the death rate from guns that the U.S. has.

Another accomplished Irish American, always nice to see. For those who pray, keep this couple in your prayers, they both need all the comforting and condolences that can be given. His strengths as an astronaut and fighter pilot, something most of us will never comprehend, will be called on, as they never have been before.
I wish them the best!

It is a wonderful love story. I pray for her recovery and for his strength. We need to become more focused on disturbed people like the shooter. Patrick Cooper, YOU PLEASE STOP with racheting up the rhetoric, are you that much of an idiot that you think we can't read your HATEFUL message between the lines.

What a tragedy! Why was this troubled young person able to buy a gun? The gun possesion
laws need to be changed so that an obviously unstable person could not have access to one!

CDR Kelly,
I wish nothing but a speedy recovery for your wife. As a fellow Irish-American and Navy man(I am currently on combat operations in the middle east) I heard the news of this tragedy in Arizona the other day, and I can only say that your wife has countless supporters over here who are wishing and praying for the best for your wife. Please know that your entire extended Navy family is with you and your family, and is praying for a speedy recovery. God Bless.
V/r,
A Navy Brother.

Bushothehill, from what most honorable people see, this is a bit different from the murder of a rancher by a criminal. Ms Gifford's opponent literally held an event inviting people to shoot an m16. You can stick your head in the sand and pretend your type has no responsibility, but it's you right wing nuts who invite this kind of thing and aren't man enough to take responsibility for your stupidity.

The whole situation was very sad. All the best for a speedy recovery for Gabrielle. I'm sure she'll recover in no time with the help of her husband, Mark. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family and for those who crossed over.

They knew the shooter had mental problems; so why wasn't he confined or, at least, watched carefully!!!!

Pray that this gifted woman may somehow be restored to good health and return to her place in Congress. She was a "Blue Dog" Democrat in an election that spared few of them. A greater loss, however, was the death of Judge Roll, the chief judge in his overburdened court, May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.

I think the killings and attempts thereof,of any innocent human being are a grave tragedy in any civilized society. But the horrendous murder by illegal aliens of an honorable aged rancher living on the Arizona/Mexican border, should get as much attention and is no less a heinous crime than the shooting massacre of the Tuscon victims by a domestic psycho. The sad part of all this is the lengths that Democrats and left-wing liberals will go to put the weapon in the killer's hands via Sarah Palin. In the meantime, all decent human beings will say a prayer for all those Tuscon victims and leave the blame game to those who wish to make political hay on the tragedies that befall others. God has no political affiliation.
