Bill O'Reilly, the Fox News host, plans to write a history book called "Killing Lincoln," due to come out in the fall of 2011.
According to a statement issued by publishers Henry Holt and Co., O'Reilly's book will take readers "into Ford's Theater and into the mind of Lincoln's assassin, John Wilkes Booth, and on the manhunt to find and bring to justice the killer of one our greatest Presidents."
In a recent interview, O"Reilly said the idea for the book came after he learned about a 19th century detective, Lafayette Baker, who led the investigation into Lincoln's murder and helped put Booth in prison.
"The more I heard, the more exciting and more interesting it became. And I said, 'Look, I can do a good book on this,'" said O'Reilly, who added that "Killing Lincoln" will also provide lessons "for today, for contemporary America."
He declined to be more specific, saying only, "I want to keep that as a surprise."
O'Reilly has written several books, including "Culture Warrior" and "A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity."
O'Reilly's book on President Lincoln will be co-written by Martin Dugard, who previously wrote "The Training Ground," an account of the Mexican War.

Miggie, tell us about the atrocities Bush(along with your Phoney Blair) and the republicrooks committed during his reign of error? Remember, "Iraq has hundreds of tons of Wmds?" "Saddam purchased enriched uranium from Niger!" 100,000 Iraqis died from Bush and Phony Blair's whoppers of mass destruction.

I love Bill O'Reilly. He tells the "other" side of the story. Can't wait to read anything that he writes. Thank goodness that we have FOX News to keep the world aware of the atrosities that Obama and his liberal cronies are committing in the USA!

Hilarious! Demented, pathological liar, Bill O'Reilly is writing a book about Abraham Lincoln? I guess we'll find out who really killed Lincoln. Will it be Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Saddam Hussein or Keith Olbermann? Can't wait to read the reviews of O'Liely's tale tales!

Mr.'Reilly had better check his historical facts concerning John Wilkes Booth. He was not imprisoned but killed about 10 days after Lincoln's assassination. Several other Confederate sympathizers were arrested and imprisoned. I believe two were hung. One of whom was Mary Suratt. I do hope that Mr.o'Reilly will do a more thorough job of research that he does for "Talking Points" and many of his other viewpoints.

good idea-but why not leave it to Dugard-it would be one thing if O'Reilly were writing his memoir-how egotistic can he be--O'Reily is insufferable
