As both Florida resident and Donegal man I feel sad for the lady, but the facts as tiseyerish show do not support her case. Pity she did not have access to a lawyer at the time. Glad it was not her priest or it would be all over the media and the Taoiseach could blast both Vatican and White House at the same time. US Government official is responsible for rape by an Embassy official - or the Taioseach in 1976, failing that 36 years later. Same logic used for blaming pope cardinal and "Church."

36 years ago? The Statute of Limitations has long run out. Further, when a country has an embassy in a foreign land, the ground on which it sits is considered to be part of the country the embassy represents, not the host country. Ireland bears no responsibility for anything that occurred behind the walls of that embassy. Throw the case out...it doesn't warrant any time or money being wasted on it.
