How much tax did he pay to the Irish Exchequer? I believe he lived in Malta for some time. Was that a tax free manoeuvre. Irish politicians have to declare their interests, even if not where they have theier money invested. Economic patriotism is the purest patriotism. Let them put their Euros where their pious platitiudes are.
One good thing is that these men earned it unlike the idle, inbred, consciousless "royals" we see around the world living in castles always at the expense of hard working, decent people who did not have the killer instinct of the "royal" ancestors. The Irish seem to have an extraodinary ability to make a great deal of money, but then so many of them give it to charity. They never killed for it and they seem to be a far more decent breed than the "royals."
Good luck to them. I am happy with my lot. Rich in money terms is not everything. The Irish experience of fabulous wealth proved to be a passing vulgarity. We are the richer for its passing. If we do not crave money alone.
Rich while the rest of us burn.
