A parcel bomb found in Belfast was destined for a well known Celtic fan. This is the fifth explosive device sent with the purpose of targeting the Glasgow football club, Celtic, and its manager Neil Lennon.

On Tuesday it was announced that the fifth parcel bomb did not reach the Celtic supporter because the address was incorrect. The bomb was found on April 12 at a Belfast postal facility.

Although no group has come forward to claim responsibility the authorities are blaming the extremist supporters of Rangers football club, Celtic's rival Protestant Glasgow club.

On March 26 a package addressed to Neil Lennon was intercepted at a sorting office outside Glasgow. Other packages were sent to high profile Celtic supporters such as Scottish lawmaker Trish Godman, and lawmaker Paul McBride.

Earlier this year packages containing bullets were sent to Neil Lennon as well as Paddy McCourt and Niall McGinn, both from Northern Ireland. Lennon has been threatened throughout his football career. He retired as a football player in 2002 saying he had received death threats from a paramilitary group in Northern Ireland.

FallsRNat..You talk about peace and everyone getting along..But your comments ..You throw a crooked dice Seamus. It's plain to see
FallsRNat, you twist your words, "extension of the Ulster problem " then you rip lennon apart. " Smith..can't wait " Why doesnt he leave now and leave Celtic where they are. Lennon isn't the one sending bombs.
The Rangers & Celtic football clubs are an extension of the ulster problem, that's why i chose to support Dundee U, the bombers should be condemned for their bigotry, but Lennon is a complete twat, he loves playing to the gallery, his cupping of his ears to the Rangers fans was intended to ratchet the knot up a level & he has suceeded if the latest round of bombs in the post is anything to go by. Unfortunaely why he retreats to his police guarded house, wives are being battered, supporters stabbed. He needs to get a grip & behave more responsibly. Walter Smith, the greatest Rangers manager in the last 30 years, cannot wait to retire to get away from the hate, he will be replaced by McCoist, Durrant & co who will only be too welcoming in responding to Lennon's antics. God help us all, time to remainder the auld firm to the history bin if they can't clean up their acts or relocate Celtic to SI, whichever way, i cannot see a way forward from this morass.
I was sitting in an Irish pub on Majorca watching Celtics play Porto a few years ago, and the fellow next to me was from Glasgow and a Ranger fan, but he was also a Catholic, which, apparently was not a good thing to be in his home pub which was a Ranger fan hangout...anyway, he made us all promise not to tell anyone he watched the match and cheered for the Celtics, who were crushed, or his home pub crowd would kill him. Are we taking football too seriously?
This is totally despicable. One is too many and there have been how many this year alone?
So the packages are coming from Belfast?
