Charity request on behalf of Protestant victims of Protestant Child abuse, the Church of Ireland Archbishop of Dublin the Most Reverend John Neill & his quote (Mark 9:42) Dear editor, having followed closely the just out pouring of support for Catholic victims of child abuse in the Republic, nowhere have I found mention of the sufferings as was inflicted on Protestant children which begs the question why not? Indeed we have evidence to prove that just as was the case with Catholic leaders the Bishop of Dublin is proving to be in total denial as to the part his church played in child abuse. Suffice to say we who represent protestant victims can only hope that Irish Central will prove to be without bias when it comes to the sufferings of innocent children no matter what denomination they happened to be born into. For proof that the Archbishop has declared to us in writing that his church had nothing to do with the management of the Bethany Home, Dublin does not square with the documented evidence we have please dont hesitate to make contact.www.nscfc.com
Read the last two paragraphs of the Article again. It says it all. There are still those who want it all 'hushed up' and not to reach the media. One wonders what 'explanations' would have been pushed on the public at the Resignations of Four Bishops one after the other like Dominoes this past while? Ailments? An inner call to Monastic Observance in a Comtemplative Order and thus leave worldly goods? The Archbishop of Dublin's head is on the block from Rome in my opinion. Either HE cleans house or will be replaced. They are all scrambling to hold onto their purple hats in the circus ring. Quote from the Article "In the one case he was involved in..." With a Fr Guido who abused young teenagers. Sorry Marty. You didn't come clean back then. Why should we buy your story now?
And whats with these BIG houses the bishops live in ....Let them live in 3 bedroom council houses. They do exactly the opposite to what Jesus advised, Give away all your worldly possessions and follow me and dont be livin in them big shagging mansions
Of course Bishop Drennan will have to go. The Vatican will only give him a certain amount of time to make that decision. Better he go of his own volition rather than be seen to be ousted. And he wont be the last I would say. If and when the Audit of all Irish Diocese commences, what will come out then will make the Murphy report seem "tame"
The bishops had no mercy on the priests who were accused of child abuse...so what's good for the goose is good for the gander...let the heads role.
No you were not asked to asked to appear before Judge Murphy’s commission, But you are being asked to Step Down. Which part of "Go Away" do you not understand ?.
This is serious business. We cannot stand by and let this happen in the future. Too many people knew this was happening in the church but didn't stand up and complain. My own mother knew of her parish priest in the 1940's who 'touched' her in Kerry. However, it is on his conscience and maybe a witchhunt is not what we need at the moment - against anyone who may not have been involved directly.
FR. FLANNERY HAS A MOST VALID POINT REGARDING THE ARCHBISHOP'S USING THE MEDIA TO COMMUNICATE WITH HIS BISHOPS, ON SUCH A GRAVE ISSUE AS THESE SCANDALS. 2 WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT, AND IT APPEARS THAT BISHOP DRENNAN'S POSITION IS SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER BISHOPS.
