Family of Irish 9/11 victims slam delay in US trial process

I often think about that poor woman and what she suffered, holding her little child. The plane was flying so low, she had to know she was looking at the end of their lives. I did not know that any bodies were recovered from that aircraft. If I feel sadness for this mother and her little girl, what must it be like for her family?

I can understand the feeling that these families have, but the Obama administration tried to have them put on trial in NY and found that New Yorkers were vehemently opposed. Trials would have cost the city a fortune for security, and would have turned into circuses. And ultimately, they would be found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.

To dearlyinaz, because if they are transferred to a prison on US territory they will get all the rights of a citizen. And that could set them free because some information is too sensitive to explain in open court, along with other reasons. No, they are war criminals and should be treated as such.

I'd imagine that justice will never be done for the families of those who lost loved ones on 9/11. But the planners of 9/11 who are in Guantanamo are facing some kind of justice in that they will never be released and will die in jail. If they are ever moved to a top security prison on U.S soil, I think they would get a different kind of justice at the hands of other prisoners. So why won't Republicans let Obama shut down Guantanamo and move the terrorists to U.S. prisons? Then we'd get our "pound of flesh" so many Americans desire.

An incredibly difficult dilemma.
