I was involved in support activity for Ireland during the 1980s, a period of great injustice, violence and repression in the North of Ireland. O'Neill, like his buddies Kennedy, Hugh Carey and Moynihan, never did the slightest thing to advance human rights in Ireland. His door was always closed to people campaigning on issues such as the Birmingam Six, British Army Shoot to Kill policies etc. O'Neill did nothing for peace.
