That is "Tethering" ..sorry.
AT&T in Texas has introduced "thering" which allows your I-phone to receive the internet where ever you have mobil phone service. It allows me to have service at my remote Ranch and our Cabin in the New Mexico mountains, where no service has ever existed. Hope for rural Ireland.
I guess what matters to some extent are the media consuming habits, a topic that can be taken in practically every other country as well. Media consumers are now making the experience that the telly is not an ATM, rewarding them with money when watching TV. And not just this: media consumers kind of got used to the idea that things would happen by themselves, without having to do or mind anything else except watching TV. And now many are facing the situation of disbelieve: the disbelieve of having to go after something, to be active, to have interests that affect the personal circumstances. A situation that is best dealt with a sense of humour. TV encourages mental laziness while circumstances require ... oh no .... brainstorming, getting active mentally, etc., that's the "horror" people are facing. When was the last visit to a public library? And so on.
i have it in dingle! but a lot of the folks round here don't
