America’s most wanted man is 81 this Labor Day weekend, but the FBI is not giving up the hunt for Whitey Bulger, wanted for 19 murders from his time as head of the Boston Irish mafia. The Oscar winning movie ‘The Departed’ was based on Bulger.
FBI Supervisory Special Agent Richard Teahan says “We haven’t gone away. The game plan hasn’t changed.”
“Our mindset is that no matter what his age is we will keep looking for him as vigorously as we did when he disappeared back in 1995 until we get some kind of credible information that he’s deceased,” Teahan, captain of the FBI’s Bulger Task Force, told the Boston Herald.
Bulger, the brother of former state Senate President William “Billy” Bulger, was last seen in London in 2002. He is the former boss of the Winter Hill Irish gang in South Boston.
He’s believed to still be traveling with girlfriend Catherine Greig. Greig, 59, a dental hygienist, also has a warrant for her arrest since 1997, when she was charged with harboring a federal fugitive.
“As best as we can tell, (Bulger’s) alive and well with Catherine Greig and they are living a quiet existence somewhere under the radar, which makes it harder to locate them,” Teahan said.
“It is a very challenging case because of not only who he is - elusive, bright, smart - but because he’s also traveling with a woman,” Teahan said. “They just don’t look suspicious.”

They'll find Obamas real birth certificate before they find Whitey....

So...Dublinjas condones murder. Interesting. And don't blame the "bleeding hearts" for this man being loose, barbaracvm. I'm a card-carrying member of the ACLU and oppose the death penalty in ALL cases, but that does NOT mean I think a man who's committed murder should be free on the streets. I'm not opposed to imprisonment for a crime, nor are any of my "bleeding heart" friends. It's only members of the right wing and religious maniacs who think it's okay to kill people and get away with it...so long as the people being killed are those with whom they disagree.

So you prefer to have murder loose on the streets - WHY Because you hate law enforcement. Is that why he can escape capture because of you bleeding hearts. Guess I won't worry about your murderer being caught.

"The Departed" isn't based on Whitey Bulger's life. It's a remake of the Chinese-Hong Kong film "Mou Gaan Dou" (the non-stop path, aka, Infernal Affairs).

I was drinking with an old guy who looked like Bulger in the Colin Campbell pub on kilburn high road London in 2002, He had beautiful white teeth which he said were his own. Good luck Whitey where ever you are.

I don't believe that the Feds will get Whitey alive. The word on the street is that if he ever goes on the witness stand, he will sing like a Lark in the clear morning air.
