ciarajoyce - Hmm tell that to the guy / family McGuinness made the guarantee of safety to return to Derry - only for him to get executed by the IRA.

This era is covered by the GFA, and the GFA speaks for itself. I'd no more trust Hurst than I'd trust Stakeknife. I expect I'd trust Mr McGuinness with my life. A dear friend of mine did, and was safe until his natural death.
There were a number of other RUCs who should have been, at a minimum, exiled to the Falklands. And a "Lance Corporal" who was just a bit out of control on Bloody Sunday. (That one you can review yourself.)
