this seems like a great idea - might be a way of finding some long lost cousins either side of the Atlantic!!!

This looks really interesting - been trying to research a bit of family history online (Cody family) and it can be tricky sometimes so good to see people coming together to share their knowledge about Irish history

There is no need to reach for the epic mode to talk about a minor website. "Never before in Ireland's history have the Irish Clans reached out to its descendants on a global scale and this promises to be one of the most ground-breaking and pioneering initiatives to come out of Ireland yet." It would be pathetic of this statement were true, if the one of the greatest ever Irish initiatives was a minor website like this. No true web development occurred anyway -- it is just a set of linked Facebook pages. Perhaps Irish Central didn't bother to look at it and just swallowed the publicity handout, or failed to grasp the sheer narrowness of this "achievement".

Would this include the Eastern European Jewish immigrants I knew who took, willingly or not, Irish names?
