An English woman has claimed that the face of Christ has appeared to her - on the creases of a drying sock.
Sarah Crane, a 38-year-old resident of Orpington in Kent, told British newspapers that she was stunned when the image of Jesus stared back at her from her laundry line.
She called her boyfriend to look at the sock and he too agreed that the crumpled grey ‘holy sock’ bore an uncanny likeness to the traditional image of Christ.
The couple took photographs of the sock to show their friends and have now distributed them to the media.
They also spoke of creating a shrine to the sock at their home in Kent but had to shelve those plans when the face was lost after they moved the ‘holy sock’.
“I’d left the washing out to dry overnight - and it had probably been sitting there a bit too long when I noticed the face in the sock,” explained Sarah.

“I called my boyfriend over straight away - we could both clearly see the face of Jesus in the sock.
“There is a straight-on face, and a side profile too - we couldn’t believe it.
“I immediately took some pictures to show our family and friends - they all thought it was hilarious. We think it’s a bit of a sign - but for what we don’t know.
“We thought it would be good to make a little shrine for it - but unfortunately, when we moved it, the creases fell out a bit and the face isn’t quite as clear now.
“But you can still just about make out his face. Unfortunately, it’s not quite good enough to donate to our local church, but our friends have all been round to see it.”
The Kent sock is just the latest in a series of everyday objects on which people have claimed to seen Jesus.
Reports last year claimed an ivy-covered telegraph pole in Louisiana which was said to have looked like the crucified Christ while his face was seen in a Hungarian field spotted on Google Earth.

Sweet sufferin' lambadivine Jaysus!? Really!? Well guess what? I saw Mohammad in my soup (even though there are no (contempoary) portraits available to confirm identification), but I was hungry so I had to eat him. D'oh! Just blew my chance at international stardom. *sigh* The stupidity, it burns!!! (The soup was hot ;))

hey if you look over the top and a little to the left of the yellow circle outlined on the sock you will see the Face of a Little Gray alien with slanted bug eyes.

How come this kind of 'sighting always seems happen at CHristmas or Easter? Someone is planning all this I think-the real miracle is the Birth Of Jesus- and no one can top that. If you want to see miracles, go to Knock and pray. One of the greatest vision of Mary, St Joseph, and St John ever in the history of CHristianity-only Fatima can claim the same. Happy New year everyone-all year!

That is really amazing, because just a couple of days ago, a guy had a bloddy nose at the ice rink. After he stopped the bleeding with a towel, everyone agreed that it was without doubt the face of Herbert Hoover.

Here's the truth. NO ONE knows what Jesus looked like. Being a Jew in the Middle East, I doubt Jesus looked anything like the portraits and pictures that have been made of him by non-Jewish European artists centuries later who have portrayed him with Caucasian, non-Jewish features. If I told you I was a female with northern European ancestry, could anyone draw a picture that looked like me?
esatdigiwank | Dec 29, 2011, 10:46 AM EST
It looks more like Ron Perlman if you ask me ha ha.
EamonnDublin | Dec 29, 2011, 10:45 AM EST
Now now, boys and girls - don't knock those who believe in these things; show a hint of basic manners. I suppose if it were some religion other than Christianity, you would all be in awe. In fact, with one particular religion, you would all be too terrified to insult the belief! Happy New Year,Anno Domini2012. Éamonn, Dublin, Ireland.

I dunno. I think it's a sign that Hugh Laurie should play Jesus. To balance his playing House, an atheist. Gotta balance the karma.
CaptainCon | Dec 29, 2011, 10:32 AM EST
Funny how it is never a muslim family who see a picture of 'jesus' on some object isn't it? In this case a bored 38 year old woman looking for attention.

Actually there's no need to worry - I've studied this 'image' and think she meant Stalin.
