A wealthy Irish American couple in their late-sixties, were found dead in their mansion in what is thought to be a mob murder. The Boston couple were found shot in the neck, their bodies placed head-to-head. Also, all the shell casings had been removed.

John (69) and Geraldine (67) Magee were found in the Andover home by their daughter, Holly Magee Senykoff. She discovered the bodies on Wednesday when she called by as she did every week to drop off her two children.

The authorities investigating the crime remain tight-lipped; however, the area is known for mob activity. Those closest to the Magees said they lived a “charmed” life and had absolutely nothing to do with the mob world.

Paul Mercandetti, who grew up with John Magee, was the best man at the couple’s wedding. He told the Boston Globe, “They are the nicest people you are ever going to see. It doesn’t make any sense to me. It’s just insane.

“I have searched my soul, but I can’t think of a single person who could have held a grudge against them, and if there was anything going on, he would have told me.”

The high school sweethearts had been together for over 40 years. They had two houses, one in Florida, and John had established a successful construction business. The couple also had two children, John and Holly.

Police say there was no obvious sign of forced entry and would not say if there was evidence of a struggle.

On the day they were murdered, their black Lexus was found burnt out on the other side of the city.

@CitizenWhy, The Westies indeed were in Hell's Kitchen but above 42nd St. FWIW I should know: my father was a Westie and Jimmy Coonan's best man at his wedding.
I'm 69-years old and I concider myself well beyond the "use-by" date, lisammc. Not much left now but to await the "Grim Reaper"!
Since when are people considered "elderly" in their late 60s!
Whitey Bulger's gettin even?
Springfield9's comment is too true. When in college I worked the docks in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The mob left us college guys alone for some reason, but they preyed on the other dock workers. Strikes were called every day, on some day more than once. Construction at that time was completely mob run. No idea if that's true today. .. P.S. My mother got me that job through an Irish-American gangster to whose daughter she had been very kind.
@colkelley .. The Westies were a New York City Irish American gang, below 42nd street. The neighborhood is now gentrified.
I worked a job (years ago) where there were 6 no-show workers. Their time cards said they were there and even put in overtime. We never saw them. Construction has a dark side.
There will be more to this than meets the eye.
Wouldn't it be the Westies in Boston?
