Dublin Airport to celebrate James Joyce’s classic ‘Dubliners’
Five free copies of the book to be handed out daily in September
In order to mark the The Dublin Airport Authority’s sponsorship of the world premiere of James Joyce’s Irish classic ‘Dubliners’ at Dublin Theatre Festival, travelers at Dublin Airport will have the chance to receive free copies of the book, and a chance to win tickets to the Festival.
RTE reports that during the month of September, free books bearing a note that reads, “Take Me, I’m Free” will be placed around the airport for passersby to snatch up. Five free books will be available each day in September, totalling in 150 books given away during the month.
Those who find a free copy will be entered to win an array of prizes if they Tweet a picture of their book to Dublin Airport’s Twitter account (@DublinAirport).
Paul O’Kane, Director of Public Affairs for DAA said: "We are thrilled to be a Presenting Partner of this year's Dublin Theatre Festival, proudly supporting Dubliners by James Joyce and we wanted to find a way to bring some of that excitement to the airport.
"We think Dubliners @DublinAirport is a fun way to engage with customers to promote The Corn Exchange and Dublin Theatre Festival's production of Dubliners and also the wider Dublin Theatre Festival."
The Dublin Theatre Festival will be premiering the stage version of ‘Dubliners’ during its September 27 - October 14 run.
