Drug mule arrested in Brazil holds valid Irish passport

Proposal for IC Staff: half a century ago, Johnny Hart had a sindicated newspaper cartoon strip called B.C. Some of the characters, such as "Fat Broad," "Skinny Broad," and Grog (I think was his name) specialised in sarcasm. Their society had a rather civilising convention--the Cave Man (with his club) and Fat Broad would go to "The Insulting Rock" and lean on it as they hurled their humourous invective at one another (similar to British Parliament). Could IC reserve a section of this webpage as "The Insulting Rock," where our more passionate contributors could repair for this purpose?

I suspect haasny is just his misspelling of "Hosni" and he's really some kind of A-rab.

bogsidebunny: I hold an Irish passport too, and I am outraged when some African drug trafficker violates a document I hold dear. The sad thing is that so many Irish people (if we can judge by posters here such as sirpeter, hassny etc.) seem quite happy to see their passports and nationality debased.

Irish passports are as easy to get as Samonella in a greasy spoon diner. Back in the 1980's the government was issuing them to Saudis if they invested over 100,000 punts in the country. Now the number of marriages of convience is going through the roof. Mostly men from Pakistan and other dubious countries hook up with European Union member State women and marry in Ireland. The in a short while the men can apply for residency and an Irish passport.

The newsmedia has been filled with stories about the "Irish drug smuggler" who swallowed 200 bags of cocaine. Suspiciously, there was no name and no picture of the smuggler (other than highly disturbing Cat-scans of the man's inards bulging with bags). Now we know why. The 20 year old "Irishman" turns out to be born in Nigeria. LOL!

For the benefit of intelligent readers out there, and that doesn't include racists like hassny, people should be aware that in opposing Mass Immigration to Ireland, a country whose ruling capitalist class is forcing an exodus of young Irish men and women, even while they are replaced by foreigners, I am articulating the viewpoint of the great majority of Irish people. Surveys always show at least 70% of Irish people want Mass Immigration stopped. Racist liars like hasny won't tell you that. I just did.

The only question is the one I posed when I first got word of this--is he naturalized Irish (Ireland has the laxest naturalization system in the world) or is he using a false Irish passport? (Ireland is the most careless nation in the world as regards keeping its passports out of harm's way). Trealach, if you ever get to articulate a rationale for Ireland importing foreign settlers even while young Irish men and women are leaving their homeland, let us have it and we'll examine it to see if it has any validity. Until you do that you remain a bigot and a racist and, what's worse, a bore. I suspect you live out on a bog in Ireland with your elderly mother--you're unemployed and have never left your home area, and you've never been outside of Ireland.
