A celebrity dog whisperer is the latest person to pledge his support to Lennox, the Belfast dog sentenced to death due to his likeness to a pitt bull.
The prominent canine trainer Cesar Millan said that his team was working “to find a better solution” other than a Belfast city court order to terminate the pet, due to his likeness to a pitt bull.
Taking to the social networking site, Twitter, to express his support, Millan tweeted on Tuesday: “It’s a decision I truly don’t agree with. My team is working to find a better solution to help.”
A source told the Daily Mirror that Millan was saddened by what happened to the dog and family.
"It’s a matter of working out what can be done and if the authorities would give him the chance.”
Last week, Northern Ireland’s most senior judges rejected a final appeal to spare the life of the 7-year-old American Bulldog Labrador cross . Only an appeal on some aspect of the law or a pardon can save Lennox now.
In a statement on the ‘Save Lennox’ website last week, Lennox’s owner Caroline Barnes expressed her gratitude to all of Lennox’s supporters.
“The past two years have been extremely distressing for many reasons and we appreciate that this has been a very emotive case for dog lovers worldwide who have spoken out against the failings of Breed Specific Legislation. “
“We take some comfort in the knowledge that we are not the only ones to be devastated by the recent ruling. In May 2010 the dog was seized by Belfast City Council dog wardens. It was ruled that Lennox was a danger to the public and should be put down.”
Here's a video from the "Save Lennox" campaign:

To the person stating 'you all do realise that Lennox was killed, right?' NO he hasn't been killed yet! If you kept up to date on FB by going to the 'Save Lennox' campaign page, you would know this for yourself. The family are planning to take it to the Supreme Court in the UK. KEEP UP THE FIGHT FOR LENNOX AND THANKS TO CESAR FOR JOINING US. BAN THE DEED, NOT THE BREED!

It would be nice to see the same level of concern at the over 8 million people in the US who go hungry every day,

dan Breen, biased and prejudiced comment. The PSNI, despite the IRA Provo Terrorists, have many Catholics and are a community police service. No doubt you don't want to hear that, you want to continue the bigotry. As far as the Orange Order, there are LOLs all over Ireland and Northern Ireland. A Representative will be speaking to the Irish Senate. Move into the 21st century.

(Vetstreet)Good advice for "animal lovers" from those that really care and know about animals.

You all do know that Lennox was killed, right?
Cyn | Jun 21, 2012, 09:28 PM EDT
Well that didn't work. It was the German Shepherd in the 70's, the Doberman in the 80's, the Rottweiller in the 90's and now the Pit Bull types. Sweet dogs being racially profiled.

There appear to be many individuals and organisations willing to take Lennox. Surely the sensible solution at this stage is for Belfast City Council to avail of such offers? Lennox is saved and the Council no longer has to follow through on the termination.

KSERRAHN, Thank you, my sentiment exactely and the sooner they are on the hobs of hell the better for this world.

I can not help think what would the Council would think if this happened to one of their's. Killing the service dog of a an autistic child will buy them a seat in hell.
