Usaidear an teaghlach seo idir an Ghaeilge agus an Bhearla.
This household uses both Irish and English. And knows bits of Polish, French, Spanish and German chomh maith.

President Higgins didn't do very much to promote the Irish language in his inaugural speech as an tUachtarán, at least according to what I read in the newspapers. The print media present his speech begining with these words; "Muintir na hÉireann", which indicates that Mr. Higgins did not use the gramatically correct vocative method when he omitted the "A" in adressing his audience. Higging and all other elected politicians propably know that Irish is the official language of the state they serve and it is also recoznized as a language by the E.U. Is mór an trua é nach gcuireann na polaiteoiri an Ghaeilge i bhfeidhm níos minice, go speisialta nuair a bhíonn siad ag labhairt leis an ngnáthdhuinar fud na tíre.
