The Continuity IRA have issued a chilling death threat against any Irishmen or women serving in the British armed forces.
The public warning was made at an annual Sean South commemoration ceremony in a Limerick cemetery.
Irish police watched on as dissident Republicans openly paraded at Mount Saint Lawrence cemetery.
The commemoration was organised by Republican Sinn Fein when a statement was read out on behalf of Continuity IRA prisoners in Portlaoise jail.
The threat was made less than a month after police uncovered a Continuity IRA plot to kill a British soldier during his Christmas trip home to Limerick.
The Irish Independent newspaper reports that Michael Kiely, from Corbally, Limerick, read the Continuity IRA statement in front of 60 people at Sean South’s graveside.

Kiely said: “We have seen from recent years that in this city of Limerick that Irishmen are considering a career in the British army - the same British army that holds six of our counties.
“Whether they are motivated by financial reasons or a sense of adventurism, we take this opportunity to say that the moment you don a British uniform, you become a legitimate target for the IRA.”
The crowd also heard Kiely warn that police officers serving in the North are also ‘legitimate targets’.
He added: “The lessons of Irish history teach us that as long as the British presence remains in Ireland, there will always be those who oppose it by whatever means necessary.
“The war is not over - it will only be over when every last British soldier is driven from our shores.”
The report adds that the open threat comes after a British soldier, in his 20s and from Limerick, was advised not to travel home to his family for Christmas after police uncovered the Continuity IRA plan to kill him.
Officers believe a prior threat was made against the same soldier last August.

Hmmm! Batmen Return: Dark Knight's Rising! Aurora Borealis revisited? How come 'Smokin' Joe' Willie Frazier (The Al Sharpton of NI) isn't on the hustings with Billy and the boys in east Belfast. Is he afraid he'll be taizered (or should that be taiguered!) by members of the Irish national police force An Garda Siochana na h'Eireann (AGSE) backing up their Ulster provincial PSNI (An Serbhís Poílíní na Tuarscírt Éireann (SPTE)) colleagues?

Lock them up.

I see Audrey has been consulting her daddy again. I doubt if she knows a toggle from a tank.

Photograph above are presumable members of An Gárda Síochana na h'Éireann (AGSE) Public Order Unit (POU) which the Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is reported to have call in for back up in aid to the civil power to relieve/reinforce stressed-out PSNI/POUs. Dissident loyalists shouldn't be unduly concerned. Many years ago, then then Fíanna Fáil majority led coalition government in the Republic of Ireland (ROI)called on the PSNIs predecessors, the Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) water cannon for a far left public protest in west Dublin - operated by RUC men!

A lot of insightful comments here. I would definitely lock these fools up. Just a gang of crooks.

What a laugh these people are. They would not last five minutes in my regiment of the Irish Defence forces. In fact, let us at them! We would soon teach them real warfare and show them what hell is really like.

These corner boys struting around in their "IRA uniforms" have never been in a real war and would run at the sight of a real Irish or British soldier. All they do is deal in drugs and threaten innocent people. The Irish police should come down harder on them.

Theoretical speaking, I understand where they're coming from, but see it as a classic example of idealism vs pragmatism. It's probably worth reminding oneself that Irish-Scot Seamus Ó Conghaile/James Connolly, Comdt Gen of the Irish Citizen Army (ICA), (and 2nd I/C of the General Post Office (GPO) rebel Garrison on the then Sackville (now O Connell) Street in Dublin during Easter Week, 1916 was an ex-member of the British Army (BA) based in Dublin Castle in the late 19th century. Dubliner Comdt Michael Mallin of the Saint Stephen's Green and Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) Garrisons likewise was an ex-British Army man serving in India - and South Africa during the Boer War with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers (RDF). Just two of many subsequent Irish Republican/Citizen Army men who did their recruit training abroad. Most soldiers in most armies are in them because they couldn't get better jobs and have to prostitute themselves accordingly. Having been on active service with the Irish (Free State?) Army in northern Ireland in the late 1970s, patrolling the commissioned boundary between north-eastern Ulster (ie NI) and south-western Ulster (ie nI), I know this to be the case. Is it purposeful to execute those who are probably not ideologically motivated.

So lets think about this a moment: Here are a group of people, who do not recognize the legimitacy of the Republic of Ireland, saying they will murder fellow citizens for chosing to serve in the service of a friendly nation (and lets not forget thats its currently very difficult to get into the Irish Defence Forces)and the police stand idly by while such mortal threats are are thrown down. It tells you all you need to know about a section of Irish society.

In 1975, I served in the Med on a U.S. cruiser. Two Brit officers came on board for anti-sub training. As a sonar tech, I worked with them. One had lost two brothers in the Troubles. The other was open to me. He told me that the Brits wanted to give back Ireland. However, they were concerned that the Irish Republic would be overwhelmed by the socialists. The targets are not really the Irish soldiers. The real target is the Queen and the overthrow of the British government in order to realize a socialist New World Order which is atheist and Marx-Lenin in nature. You better believe that the Obama Administration is very sympathetic to the socialist cause. The legitimate struggle on the part of Eamon De Valera has been compromised with the "feces covered" filth of Babby Sands and the feces covered brain of Gerry Adams. Up the Irish but "up the" of a false Irish fulfillment of atheistic Communism.
