Dublin’s archbishop Diarmuid Martin called upon Catholics to have “no fear or timidity in bringing the message of Jesus, in its authenticity, into the world of today” while delivering his Easter homily at Pro Cathedral.
Journal.ie reports on Archbishop Martin’s call to action. Archbishop Martin also said during the homily that devouts should bring the message of Jesus “onto our streets, into our media, to our younger generations.”
Later in his homily, Archbishop Martin explained how the Church is embarking upon two forms of renewal this Easter - the celebration of the resurrection of Christ, as well as the “process of renewal and purification” being undergone by the wider Church in Ireland.
Archbishop Martin also spoke to the notion of morality, and how it is not “compartmentalized” away from religion.
“Where believers, whether lay or cleric, betray their calling to foster harmony, truthfulness and integrity in their own lives and in public life, they betray resurrection; they betray and damage their Church, they betray and damage human dignity and community.”
The Easter Mass was attended by several Irish dignitaries, including President Michael D. Higgins and the Papal Nuncio to Ireland, Archbishop Charles J Brown.

Newsflash: The Second Vatican Council did not try to turn the Catholic Church into a democracy. Aristotle told us 3,500 years ago that democracies can be tyrannies if those casting votes are uninformed. The laity that wish for all in the pews to have equal power and an equal say just do not get it. Aristotle warned us: Once philosophy leaves Athens and falls into the hands of the uninformed who think that they have wisdom, then chaos ensues. Look at the posts here and see if Aristotle has a point.

The Holly Roman Church has absolutely nothing to do with Iosa/Jesus. he was adopted as a superman archtype to sell the scam of pain and suffering being good for the soul and money is bad for us, so give it to the men in Roma so they can have a great time rapind and molesting the Molls/children. The sheeple were never supposed to find out the truth that all patriarchal religions are the same- same old hierarchial power and control from the top of the pyramid down.

So what has Roman Catholicism, Protestantism or Eastern Orhtodoxies got to do with Christianity? They're all just a detour, deviation and distraction from the generic Christianity of the original Jesus movement. Free your minds. Read teh Gnostic Gospels. The authentic scriptures they didn't really want you to know about.

Diarmuid Martin will be the next to be silenced if he doesn't improve the situation. Big PR job there.

Dublin’s archbishop Diarmuid Martin called upon Catholics to have “no fear or timidity in bringing the message of Jesus, in its authenticity, into the world of today." As I read the above quote from this article, I live in hope that listening with the ear of the heart, and having the wisdom to discern the signs of the times, will return to the Vatican in my lifetime. This year is the 50th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council, where it was clearly stated that all of the faithful deserve to have a voice in their church. Having a voice means being able to dialogue with one another. The silencing of Fr Tony Flannery by the Vatican has no real place in a Vatican II world. Fear has replaced love in the church led by Pope Benedict XVI. I pray that true love and the joy of the Resurrection will soon come back to this pilgrim church. Sincerely, Dr Rosemary Eileen McHugh, Chicago
