to those in ireland who say they have not seen any signs of censorship in ireland,i would say good and you are lucky,it is certainly not the case in most other countries, and in the uk they certainly are looking at press control having shut down the news of the world, imprisoned journalists, tried to make journalists divulge sources, questioned and arested editors, and newspaper owners.set up a high pwered investigation into the press, and the cheif inquisitor emediately after the inquisition, sorry inquiry,?answerd no questions on his findings but jetted off to australia to open a debate on how to control the internet, none of that out of place in Russia, just total hysteria propoganda,to whip up public indigation so they can justify MORE STATE CONTROL AND CENSORSHIP.AND YOU DONT THINK THERE IS A THREAT THERE.

It seems to me that this guy acted despicably. To kill oneself, leaving a widow and children, represents an extraordinary act of selfishness. For the rest of their lives this man's family will dread the arrival of Christmas as it will bring these sad memories. Even the family's income will be slashed as result of this action. I believe the old Catholic injunction against "self-slaughter", in which those who killed themselves were marked with opprobium, was actually the right attitude.

A young girl died a short time ago and they cared not, now a 60 year old traitor to his people killed himself for the same reasons and we are meant to care, well you know what, Ireland would be better off if they all would

Why all this concern about losing freedom of speech or of the press? I have not seen anyone in the Irish government calling for censorship of any kind. Let's remember, though, that EVERYONE has freedom of speech, and those who are victimized by hate speech and brutal attacks, cyber-stalking and cyber-bullying must use their freedom of speech and the press to call out and accuse those who do the bullying and make their tactics public. That's how democracy works; it does not work by censorship.

For those who are no aware of it, I will repeat just one quotation from Shane McEntee (RIP), when he was referring to those brave and loyal souls who spend their lifetime looking after an elderly, sick, disabled, parent or child or other relative. When their financial allowance was reduced in the budget of a few weeks ago and they protested, he said "They'll just have to get on with it". Éamonn, Dublin.

ken from dublin.eloquently said and a 100%correct.the day you cant raise legitimate critisism, and that right is under serious threat from the powers that be,and the stinking levenson inquisition of the press, will lead to further supression of free speech, the furore over the nurse who committed suicide,it turns out now,as i suspected that she had gone down that road previously, yet at the time it was all the fault of irispoNsible editorial direction and calls for all sorts of hysterical measures of supression to be taken.without a free press we can never take these rotten polititions, banksters and all the other rip off merchants to task.VALUE AND FIGHT FOR A FREE PRESS.

wtf. To any politician out there or anyone thinking of running for office in the future, the best you can hope for is not more than half the people will hate you no matter what you do. So make up your mind to be honest and do the right thing for the people and ask yourself will you be able to take the heat and live with yourself.

Irish bullies abound in a culture where critizing one of their own is not acceptable. Sanctamonious steamrolling anyone who dares to speakout usually has it's intended effect.
