Please let's be real here. Joe is a great guy but he will be 74 years old, in four years. In all fairness, he has served his Country well. At 74, he deserves some quality time with his family and friends...to enjoy life. I really do not think Joe Biden will run. No matter what he does, I wish him well.

I agree with some of what you say but my point was why say you are a Republican and then say you intend to vote for the Democrat no matter who the Republican is ? It's OK to be a Democrat. You take the same approach. Because you don't like some of the current Republicans you say they are doomed. The elected Republicans in the various states would disagree. Republican Governors at an all time high. The problem seems to be the primaries resulting in candidates who can't win.
Moderate Republicans would vote for a less conservative choice rather than vote for the Democrat. The same for the left wing crazies. They vote for the Democrat. Whoever it is. I don't see Democrats as real conservatives at all. But that's another story.

wjb1tex - there are many republicans and former republicans out here who can't stand the party's current brand of candidates and elected officials. A conservative by definition wants to preserve the current for the future not return the world to what it was a century ago. Current GOP candidates have been reactionaries not conservatives. Most of the Democratic candidates are the REAL conservatives. They want to preserve our social programs not privatize them. They want regulate industry not return us to the days of robber barons. This is why the republican party is doomed. It has lost the moral compass shown by Lincoln and TR. Its ever shrinking membership do not like the way America has matured over the last century and are bound and determined to take it backwards. We like Adult America and hope its good characteristics continue to be supported. If you want to vote for people bound and determined to take your country back to its terrible twos that is your perogative but you may find that getting what you want is not always getting what you need.

Eschetic | ------------ You claim to be a Republican but have already decided to vote for the Democrat without knowing who the Republicans will nominate, what Biden's health will be like, what he will say in debates as to how he intends to govern, or anything else that most people use to decide who to vote for. Unless you just want to vote for the guy from Delaware because you are proud.

It's still FAR too soon to be seriously speculating about the next president, and a lot will depend on what Hillary Clinton does, but it's becoming increasingly clear that the lady's husband wants her to run this time far more than the lady herself does coming off an outstanding term as Secretary of State. Never underestimate the determination and clout however of a sitting Vice President - even at 70. Given his impressive career of practical achievement (and even as a Republican but a MODERATE one and one proud to have been born in Delaware), I'll certainly be voting for him if he can get his party's nomination. How likely THAT will be can probably be gauged between now and then by how hysterical the usual right wing nut jobs are in denigrating the man on an ongoing basis - it's a perfect measure of both their ignorance and how scared they are of a candidate they know they could not beat!

While I personally like Biden I also like Joe Thiesman who said "Norman Einstein was a genius" but I don't think I want either to be President.

I'll support him. I was going to vote for McCain, until Obama put Biden on the ticket. But we'll see what Hillary does.
