Congressman Peter King

Long Island congressman Peter King has promised a major crackdown effort on illegal immigration when he becomes Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee in the House on January 3rd.

King is expected to also head the Friends of Ireland caucus in Congress next year.

He believes strongly that President Obama has not done enough to battle the issue of illegals.

"The Obama administration continues to display an obvious lack of urgency when it comes to gaining operational control of the border, which is absolutely critical," King told The New York Post.

He said Obama has "done little" to stop illegals and he wants a new Mexican border strategy "that incorporates the necessary staffing, fencing and technology to do the job."

King is seeking tough sanctions on those who hire illegals and more federal money for police forces to focus on illegals. He wants more illegals arrested he told the newspaper.

Advocate, you are right! King will change his mind when Obama tells him how many Irish illegal votes he will garner fo his reelection. If you are a recent American college grad with a $700 a month student loan and no job, can you be an illegal in Ireland, Germany,Canada? Hope Mr. King keeps his ideals. I fear his mind will 'change' when Obama and his fellow Socialist 'talk' (sic), to him! Obama needs the votes of the illegal's he will soon grant full amnesty too!

If one arrives in OUR America, willingly & knowingly in violation of OUR Law, that person is a CrimeScumBag just like any other criminal. While our hearts are touched for their problems, we have many herein who are jobless and hungry also! If THEIR Country doesn't care about them, their government wants these 'burdensome' people to sneak here to drain OUR tax monies rather than theirs! ...and you know what? We the SHEEPle OBVIOUSLY like it this way! IF we didn't, it'd change before tomorrow morning! Things don't change simply because we don't care enough to be SERIOUSLY effective!

Huge difference between the illegals who just come across the border and those that overstay a visa. There is some record of who came into the US in the latter instance, if the US had a security concern about someone, it could make inquiries. In a post-9/11 world there has to be some accountability as to who you admit into the country; otherwise, what is to stop Al-Queda from using the Mexican border as an entry point.

Good for Congressman King! While the USA enhances border security, I would like to see more done to speed up the process of LEGAL immigration, so more fine folks can come here and join us in keeping a UNITED America alive.

Why even have a country if the borders or citizenship are worthless? We can just have a loose territory, or loose confederation, with little or no glue to hold us together. Why pay taxes? Laws get back to the basic laws of Dr. moreau and not much more, perhaps sharia will rule the land? Would that make you lefties happy?

Will Rep. King also enforce the New York, Boston and Philadelphia borders to prevent the surge of Irish immigrants sneaking in now that the Irish economy is once again in the dumps? Or will he give them a pass based on their college degrees and pale skin?
