Cheryl Hines tweets of new life with RFK Jr in weeks prior to Mary Richardson’s suicide
Hines made herself cozy with Mary’s close friends
Tensions arose surrounding the final arrangements for Mary’s life. Ultimately, RFK Jr claimed the body of his ex-wife and was awarded full custody of his children and the whole of Mary’s $4million estate, despite being challenged by Mary’s lawyer brother Thomas Richardson. RFK Jr held a funeral and burial that was attended by only one of Mary’s siblings. Mary’s family then hosted an alternate memorial service which celebrated the life of Mary, though her children and estranged husband did not attend.
During the funeral mass, Mary’s ex-husband RFK Jr spoke tearfully of the “sadness that kicked her and chased her.”
However, sources close to Mary deny any type of depression.
“Battling demons? That's hyperbolic language,” Carole Radziwill told People magazine. “I didn't see anything close to that. She truly believed in the goodness of people. In the end that was her undoing.”
Another friend said, “Mary did not have a history of depression. She became a troubled person because of the divorce.”
