Chelsea Clinton keeps an Irish secret

Chelsea Clinton’s 150 page thesis on the Northern Ireland peace process has become one of the most sought after in academia.

Multiple media requests to view the thesis have been turned away by Stanford University, where she studied before graduating.

Experts say Chelsea remains a mystery, even after her high profile wedding and anything she has written that would show some insight on her would be very interesting.

However, Clinton aides insist on it being kept private. The thesis, said Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines, “was written to satisfy an academic requirement—not media curiosity”.

Chelsea’s aides have repeatedly told reporters to ask Stanford University for the thesis.

However, the college said it didn’t have a copy in its library, and her thesis professor says only Chelsea can allow him to release it.

She has so far refused permission.

According to Professor Jack Rakove, her advisor at Stanford, Chelsea spoke with her father “at some length” about the negotiations.

She also met leading Northern Ireland politicians including Nobel Laureate and former SDLP leader John Hume and Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams.

Chelsea Clinton Mezvinski is an expert on Northern Ireland and its peace process.

As a senior studying for her history degree at Stanford University, California, in 2001, Chelsea produced a 150-page thesis on her father’s efforts to work out a solution.

Internet chatrooms have suggested a conspiracy

One blogger wrote: “Why, oh why do they persistently want to hide things?”

Another one suggested: “Did Chelsea write about Ulster’s peace process — or did she come up with the idea of how to end the Troubles, and pass on that advice to her papa?”

Bill Clinton was one of the main architects of the Good Friday Agreement.

He was also the first US President to visit Northern Ireland.

That should have read"6 26=32, sorry 'bout that. But I am sure that those who know, knew anyway. Semper Fi, Tiocfaidh ar la
Somehow 6 plus 26 equals 32 doesn't want to display the plus signs. Oh well, after 3 tries it has lost the intent.
That should have read 6 26=1, sorry 'bout that. One should check the Mezvinsky family background, birds of a feather sure do nest together. Tiocfaidh ar la, Semper Fi,
Chelsea "An expert on NI", you have to be kidding! Has she spent time in the Catholic ghettos and experienced the strife that occurs on a daily basis? Has she actually held a "plastic bullit" in her hands, an object that has killed, maimed and blinded many in the 6 counties. Does she even have a clue what 6 26 1 mean. Give me a f--king break, who care what the hell your thesis on NI was.
To call her "Chelsea Clinton Mezvinski" is ridiculous for two reasons. First, she has not, to our knowledge, changed her name at all. Second, you didn't even spell Mezvinsky correctly.
An expert on Northern Ireland and it's peace process??? What a load of bollox!
Thank you to President and Mrs. clinton for taking the time to try to resolve the Northern Ireland situation. He is the ONLY U.S. President to make any effort to unite Ireland and stop the killing. All previous presidents were so imbeded with Britain that they would not try to stop the fighting. BUT, the US had no problem interfering with other countries whose oil and natural resources could be exploited.
Yawn!
Very interesting article. Would also like to read that thesis, but can understand the reasons for not disclosing. As far as what Sheilah wrote: "President Clinton should have won the Peace Prize for his efforts in dealing with all sides of the N.I. Good Friday process"....I agree totally!!! Much more deserving than Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize for......what????
Not everystudent is the son or daughter of an American President. I am sure Stamford University is bound by security to seal her record. Privacy and being the daughter of the President she could be targeted by any nut out there. From the publicity and interviews that were given at the time she wrote it, she made very positive statements and indicated she selected Northern Ireland Peace Process because she was inspired, and believed in the process and it was part of history! One does not get in to Stamford and graduate if they are Stupid! Chelsea was an excellent student and could have selected other universities at the time. She chose Stamford. The University also mentioned at the time it was an impressive piece of research and writing.
@Joan Karen: She is of some Irish descent but is the daughter of an Ex-President and an American. Who cares if she has one bit of Irish DNA. Leave Chelsey alone. She garners news because of who she is which is a matter of historical fact jdi2269. She is intelligent and did what was expected of her degree program. She deserves respect as a human, and not your ugly hateful words. @Belfastgirl, what makes you an expert on the peace process in Northern Ireland, certainly not your proximity to the issue. @Laura Wilson....your comments are hateful and ugly. Who cares if she is a beauty queen or a "semi swan" as you call her. She has earned her way through school. Leave Chelsea alone. Oh and learn to spell.
I'm wondering how the students who did not have a former President for a father fared on their thesis papers? Didn't she have a bit of an advantage???? Frankly, who care what an udnergrad wrote, she's not even Irish, as far as I know.
How does the "phoenixnurse" know that the thesis is "an excellent and impressive writing" ?No reputable college would grant an advanced degree without a copy of the thesis in it's library
PLEASE STOP !!! THE STORY IS THE DAUGHTER OF A PERVERT MARRIED THE SON OF A CONVICTED FELON !!!
She may have written her thesis on Northern Ireland peace process, it does not make her a expert on Northern Ireland.
