I'm with Bill Donohoe all the way! The priesthood is no place for those men with homosexual tendencies, whether in or out of the closet.

BishopSean Let’s just call them generically what they truly were, sexual child predators. The most grave offense and "crime", after the actual abuse, were the Vatican officials who allowed these untreatable predators to be moved around and victimize for decades. There's no way any true follower of Christ can rationalize their actions and it's impact. It's indefensible

It should be concerning to all of us that in the USA, police records state that some 30% of complaints of paedophelia are of males who abuse boys, ususally in their very sensitive post-pubescent period. While this is not the majority of cases of paedophilia, when one considers that homosexuals are some 2- 3% of American males (Guttmacher, U. of Chicago--which are not anti-homosexual), this would suggest that homosexuals are more prone to this sin and/or illness. Whatever else may or may not be good about Bill Donohue's letter, if his statement is true that 80% of victims of priest sexual abuse are male, this should indeed make all objective reviewers take very serious notice and let this truth sink in. We cannot afford to have any favorite sin, whether it is homosexuality, adultery, fornication, gossip, anger, physical or emotional abuse, or what have you. Being "politically correct" is not the same as being a truthful and faithful disciple of Jesus Christ.

Even the name shield and emblem 'The Catholic League' speaks volumes. We are not idiots. Nor is The Papacy. WHAT IS MR.DONOHOE'S AGENDA? A more holy, holy, holy, holy Church than is currently available? Nothing worse than zealots their advertisments and self-styled logic.

Seems like Donohoe is trying to shift the blame. We all know that part of the problem is the very structure of the Roman Catholic Church (and I am a practising Roman Catholic): power and control; contempt for human sexuality (revisit the Jovinian controversy); dressing up etc etc plus the myths the papacy is built on.

when the heat was turned way up high on cardinal law in boston and shortly before he booked a one way flight to vatican city he tried to stir up a vicious and malicious campaign against homosexuals and blamed them for the sexual abuse of 12, 16 year olds by adult priests with all kinds of authority. He deviously tried to take the focus off of himself/his reign, pedophile priests and files filled with complaints against priests by children, parents, nuns. He was on a mission to protect and enable pedophiles and a culture of pedophaelia en masse.

I agree with Bill Donohue of the Catholic League. Can we all say "Amen".

Read the report Joanhugh suggested. You can find it on the college's website http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/churchstudy/main.asp
The word homosexual was used exactly twice, so Joanhugh's assessment that "It was 5% pedeophilia (correctly spelled “pedophilia,” by the way) and 95% homosexual behavior...." is pure conjecture. In fact, the report stated "Individuals who molest children may be heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual with regard to victim selection." The suggestion that the college used former FBI agents in not substantiated in the report either. Remind me again who is "unwilling to report the truth"?

I am an American Catholic and have gone through a fair share of this crap over here. Don't blame this mess on homosexuals. Same is true over here-the abuse of children is done by heterosexual men. The church needs to get there act together and enter the 21st century. Stop blaming and take responsibility.

I guess Mr. Donohoe is not familar with the multitude of studies which reveal that by far most child abusers are hetrosexual men.

Donohue also contended that all victims were adolescents. What about the really little children, seminarians, girls? He needs psychological treatment too! Why do the airwaves give this guy the time of day? This is not a simple issue. The sickos preyed (pardon the pun) on children of all ages. This goes beyond any homosexual issue. It has to do with power by an authority figure over the weaker person and a lack of sexual maturity and intergration of one's sexuality into the full persona. It involves narcisism and arrogance.

let me share this with u written by unknown author.the priest is all ways wrong. if priest focuses his ministry on women; people will tag him a flirt or a playboy; if he is seen along with men they tag him a gay; if he spend time with children they call him a pedophil. if he warms up old women , some will say he is missing his mama. does that mean that noting good come from our priests. it will be worth if we can know the number of priests indited and what persentage covincted. thanks
