The names of the 12 jurors who determined Casey Anthony was not guilty of first degree murder, will be made public today.

Under normal circumstances juror’s identities in Florida are released once a verdict is rendered but in the high profile murder trial, Orange-Osceola Chief Judge Belvin Perry ordered for the names not to be announced.

He issued an order to protect the well-being and safety of the jurors "by imposing a 'cooling off' period", so the names were not released immediately after the trial. He said some had been threatened and that some felt like “prisoners in their own homes”.

Casey Anthony (25)  was found not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in the summer of 2008. The 12-member jury found Anthony not guilty of aggravated child abuse and not guilty of aggravated manslaughter of a child.

The jury was given the opportunity to discuss their decision with the media but the majority declined. Under Perry’s order, the names can be released by the Pinellas County Clerk's Office today.

Caylee’s remains were discovered in a wooded area near the Anthony family home in December 2008, around five months after she was reported missing.
