A Canadian dentist has flown to Ireland to find a woman he met for a mere two minutes earlier this summer.
Sandy Crocker (28), from the Pacific coast province of British Columbia, is determined to track down the lady he met in a County Clare pub last July.
Crocker describes the beauty as being in her mid to late-twenties with freckles and reddish brown hair.
The chance encounter happened on 9th July, when Crocker and his brother popped into An Teach Bia cafe in Ennistymon, County Clare, on their way to visit the Cliffs of Moher.
"She was eating and I didn't want to interrupt her meal so I waited until she was leaving and I asked her for directions to the Cliffs of Moher," he said.
"I was leaving Ireland a day later so, at first, I didn't see the point in pursuing things -- but after she left I decided I had to.”
Back home in Canada, Crocker was unable to get the mystery lady out of his head.
He said: “I went back to work and my life, but there was always a joke here or there from my brother about the Irish girl in Ennistymon.
“She never left my mind, so I decided why not go back and try to find her.”
An avid surfer, he intends to travel around Clare in the hopes of finding his mystery lady before he visits Cork and Belfast.
"Maybe it's a shot in dark but if it is meant to be, if it's fate, then who knows what might happen?"

"Crocker describes the beauty as being in her mid to late-twenties with freckles and reddish brown hair." Oh look! There she is now! Wait a minute...no - she's over there! Oh my! Look - now she's over there! I think I saw this girl 20 or 30 times on my way to work this morning. Maybe you can find her using her dental pattern - you are a dentist, right? Good luck.

Or, she could be a silky (spelling?) and have swam off. ;-)

Poor sap...she probably has a hidden skin disease and eats corn flakes in beer...while barking at four brats.

I recommend another Doris Day song, "Que sera, sera" whatever will be will be and I am praying Dr Crocker will find his Princess Who Charmed Him!

The best of luck to you, Sandy! In 2005 at a U2 concert here in Toronto, I had a similar experience with an incredibly good-looking blonde-haired, blue-eyed Irish male. Despite my efforts, we never did reconnect. Wasn't meant to be I suppose. @michaelidaho - he's a DENTIST. He doesn't exactly make minimum wage ;)

He obviously had a great time in Ireland, no wonder. The west of Ireland, especially, The Cliffs of Moher are incredibly romantic. I'll bet most of you would be spellbound, too, after a day or two there. Pure magic! I hope he finds the love of his life! He will, no doubt have a great adventure, either way. It is about the journey, remember...

How romantic. His money, his life. Sandy, whether you find her or not, you'll always know you tried. If it is meant to be, you'll find her, if not, something better is meant for you.

It must be nice to be able to blow a few grand on a pipe dream. This guy must have money to burn.

I empathize with Sandy. Sadly, this is the proverbial "shot in the dark", or "needle in the haystack". If he finds her, and she is agreeable, that would be wonderful. However, the odds are greatly against Sandy. I want to firmly disagree with the "politically correct" people who claim that this is "stalking". To them, any time a man engages in healthy pursuit of a woman, he is labeled a "stalker"! Not true!! Stalking involves some dangerous element. Some women label a man as such, not out of any tangible danger, but simply because he is not rich and famous!! They demonize him, simply because he is not their "Knight in Shining Armour"! This arrogant form of dismissal speaks volumes for these women-they are usually insecure gold diggers! Now, I know that the time comes when any pursuit must come to an end, be the seeker a guy or a girl. Yet, I feel those who pursue, mostly men, are given a slanderous label, which they don't deserve! More toleration is needed, in the singles world. Finally, all should listen to a Doris Day song, from the 1950's, "A Guy is a Guy". It is quite amusing, put in today's perspective!

Stalking, it's a Canadian trait, akin to moose hunting.
