Canada is a great country and they welcome the Irish with open arms. Vancouver is arguably the nicest city in North America. The winters here in New England and New York can match anyones. Most of the young Irish people I meet are looking for a job. The weather is secondary at the moment.

good news for Canada which is on the edge of being over-run by the Sharia gang. Paddys of any sort greatly improve the immigrant pool.

@woundedbollix Your "boring comment is a little "rich" for someone who had to sit through the dreadful lectures at Columbia University of Anglo-Egyptian "nancyboy", the late Edward Said, the foreign policy analyst Obama channels in the hereafter (kind of like Hillary's seances with the old dyke herself: Eleanor "I don't think you're swell" Roosevelt). If I had ten minutes left to live, I should like it to be in your company, that would be my definition of forever.

I don't envy the Irish who find their way to Canada. It's a very boring country. Those Canadian winters!!!! And imagine the speed limit. It's about 55 mph. Try sticking to that speed on the prairies of Manitoba. Reminds me to congratulate Texas. I hear they're upping the limit to 85. Maybe now it'll be possible to cross the state in one day.

Maybe of interest: the policy of Canada's Central Bank
which made a real difference and has a lot to do with why
there is no talk of recession, not to mention bank bailouts,
in Canada. Suggested search words, if interested: "Canada's
Merchant Banker" in Walrus magazine, 2009, and more to the
same effect
