With Election 2012 officially wrapped up, Buffalo News in New York now has their eyes set on 2016. The northern New York newspaper has already endorsed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the 2016 election.
In an opinion column titled ‘Clinton has the leadership to be president,’ the newspaper says that it is “not too early to be thinking about who would make an excellent candidate for the presidency in 2016 - particularly if there is a conspicuously capable individual already on the political scene.”
The column goes on to the give newly re-elected Barack Obama a slight knock, saying of Clinton, “She would bring vastly more leadership, experience and judgment to the White House, compared with its current occupant.”
The column goes on to say, “She not only knows the right thing to do, she also knows how to do it.”
Clinton will be stepping down from her role as Secretary of State soon, and has claimed to have no interest in another presidential run after having been defeated by Obama for the candidacy in 2008.
However, the newspaper is hopeful that Clinton may reconsider, “After some time to rest and reflect, however, she may find renewed fire to pursue unfinished business.”
Husband Bill’s “persuasiveness” could play a factor, as well.
The column concludes, “For the country’s sake, and because she clearly is the best candidate, we hope the competing factions in national Democratic politics will coalesce to make her the nominee.”

Slainte9, pass the Kool Aid. I can't even dream of a Democrat who voted for the President who would not vote for Hillary Clinton. You apparently are delusional.

Although I would be happy to cast my vote For Hillary Clinton, I really think that first she should take a rest. She has done an exemplary job as Secretary of State. I can't think of anyone who has ever come close to her ability and her commitment to the position. Take a break Hillary. There is plenty of time for you to think about running later. God Bless You.

It's a little early for endorsements, especially as Hillary has stated she won't run' I think she is a remarkable individual who has all the necessary attributes to be president. I would like to see her run again.

As Democrats go, Hillary is NOT all that bad, and neither was he husband who served 8 years as President. Thanks to Bill Clinton (and Peter King) for their significant contribution to peace in the Northeast corner of Ireland.

What do the good editors at the Buffalo News know about conditions in 2016 that they are not telling us? Or are they just smug know-it-alls? I would like to think that this country can produce occasional new talent and not have to keep recirculating people clearly past their "best by" dates.

Premature to declare Republican Party dead. Many who voted for Obama won't vote for Hillary.
