Nice story but I'm confused by the dates in the following sentence - His parents lived in the U.S. from 1989 to 1902 before returning to Ireland.

"He is still driving his car. He has been known on occasion, mainly when there are events on at the Irish Consulate in Manhattan, to drive himself"
Thanks for the warning, keep a sharp lookout when driving in Yonkers or the City.

La breithe an mhaith agat, a Seosamh/Happy birthday to ya, Joe! More power to yer elbow. Still pullin' da divil be the tail, I see. Wow, the big three digit birthday. Awesome, dude! Your second Hawaii 50. Yes indeedee. Positivity is indispensable. Some posters on this site could take a leaft out of his book. I'm sure Crusheen, County Clare hasn't changed much since he left. Has he ever been back? Now, wouldn't that be a lovely gift from IrishCentral/AerLingus/Maldron. Here's to your 200th., Joe!

Great story April on one of the great characters in New York. My own Clare-born mother was born the same year and emigrated to New York the same year as Joe. Sadly she passed on five years ago at 95 but left her own legacy and large family.
