I dont always agree with Lorcan, but he's spot on with his views on Ian Paisley - hateful, evil man. (Paisley that is. :) )

Like I said previously (without intending to discourage contributions from other posters I might add)The first step to recovery is for the Irish Nation collectively to hold up their hands and declare, "we f ked up" If we cant even do that, then we aint going anywhere better any time soon!!

dublinjas" A real friend?!! I would say more You are getting me all teary eyed here. Seriously enough of the fawning. The British are simply acting in their own self interest, and of course their is nothing wrong with that. But to think it is anything other than self interest is nonsense. Dry up your tears now.

Sallyorob, here’s the thing, unless you start your post ‘speaking as an Irish American’ nobody need know where you’re from. Please continue to contribute; between you and me I’m a one-legged, alcoholic transvestite who’s only income is from a radio voiceover. You know the one that goes. ‘The difference is, we’re Irish’ So ignore the knockers and get posting!!!.

I don't think many people are laughing at the dire straights of this global recession. It's not just Irish people who were hoodwinked by corruption in the financial system. If we don't realize that we're all in this together and resolve to help each other out, starting on the smallest scale, on upward, then we will have committed ourselves to repeating the same pattern of abuse of power that is really underlying our problems.

where are you going to emigrate to monaghanjack?? As far as believing the nonsense you were told, perhaps tyou should have been more skeptical. Plenty of Irish were,a nd many of them will be fine during and after this mess,as they did nto drink the Kool-Aid.

If it's absolutely necessary monetarily for someone to step in and help Ireland, who better to help and attempt to mend a fence or two than the Brits?????

Is Fianna Fail about to take a handout from the Brits?? Haha, I love it!!
Interestingly, Ireland's supposed friend, Europe is treating the country aggressively with a tone more of bullying than support. The UK is reaching out to Ireland. Real Irish people will thank this gesture but paddies with their small minds will snear at the UK's gesture. As usual.

I have nothing to say, since as an Irish-American, my comments are not welcome.
