Nadhim Zahawi??? He sure sounds English! As to liberalview's post, it's nonsense. The "British" of Patrick's day were Celts, the Britanni, first cousins of the Celts living in Ireland. Britony is the Celtic region of France, while An Bhreatain Bheag--Little Britain--is the Irish for Wales.

St Patrick was British but that doesn't stop us from celebrating the day. St Andrew wasn't Scottish either.
Plus St George wasn't Italian, he was Turkish/Greek but served in the Roman Army.
Personally, I think its great that Ireland, England and Scotland salute foreign saints on their national day - nobody can accuse us of being xenophobic.
