Most irish do not believe the bomb on a bus story, we are well used to this type of propaganda being used, and not from as SHARONNOELLA puts it ..the IRA. Who ?? I do not support the dissindents, but I do know that loyalists in the north of our country are not happy that their queen set foot in Dublin.

seanomelbourne is obviouslyunaware that self same groups planted car bomb under Ronan Kerr the Catholic Police Officer car last month, placed several other bombs under police officers cars, one under a women police officer with a kid in the car, another blew the leg of Pedar Heffron a Catholic Officer, they shot and killed Catholic Officer Stephen Carroll, and shot three other Police Officers in the last few years one having just dropped his kid off at school as well as setting off several large car bombs in Northern Ireland causing considerable damage

Seanomelbourne: The pipe bomb on the Bus carrying 30 people was not a hoax and described as 'viable', it was later made safe by an Irish Army bomb disposal team. Pretty sad trying to apportion responsibility on anybody but those that planted it.

So the British can rule with terror and everyone is to pay lip service and congratulate them??
But anyone who disagrees is a dissedent?

@seanomelbourne-I would have to say that, these "hoax'S", are propaganda, from the IRA! To induce fear, in anyone, that dissents from there point of view. Furthermore, it justify's the thinking, that all Irish, are terrorists and thugs. The only thing these "hoax'S" accomplished, was to disrupt the live's of Irish citizen's, scare people and ruin the tourist economy that Ireland relies on!

No one has died in any explosion all were hoax's. Is this a propaganda cue for the plastic Irish to demonise a dissenting point of view.Reading some of the "fawning on your knees" commentary below is embarrassing to say the least.

Mary Robinson has said that an apology would not be appropriate, but she would hope for some kind of recognition. I think apologies are always appropriate, but I'm no politician.

Cupertino: A very big majority of Irish people welcome this visit but since when have terrorists listened to what the people want? Who knows, maybe their will be some sort of apology. Laying a wreath at the garden of remembrance is already a big reconciliatory act. Ireland IS ready for this... but a tiny minority of violent idiots are not.

While I do not advocate violence of this nature perhaps those that are responsible for inviting this person to Ireland should have considered the history of our two nations. How about an apology from the Queen?

Putting a bomb on a bus carrying 30 Irish citizens to Dublin. What kind of mindset have these dissident republican idiots have? Well done, you sure do make your country proud. :/

Any kind of violence would deter tourism, and would have a very negative effect on the whole country. So let's hope that no-one with an agenda has plans.

What is the point of blowing up your own country and people just because you have a problem with your government's choice of guest? Shows you the mentality of the kind of idiot that we have running around in Ireland.
