“The white establishment is now the minority,” FOX TV host Bill O'Reilly has said. “And the voters, many of them, feel that the economic system is stacked against them and they want stuff.”
“The demographics are changing,” he said. “It’s not a traditional America anymore.”
O’Reilly claimed 50 percent of the voting public are people who “want stuff. They want things. And who is going to give them things? President Obama. He knows it, and he ran on it.”
O’Reilly criticized Mitt Romney for his hurricane response: “[Hurricane Sandy] just wiped the governor’s campaign off the map for five days. Five days Mitt Romney disappeared from the national debate and from the media headline,” O’Reilly said. “Now, it's interesting, because I told their campaign, and this is not self-aggrandizement, but I was speaking to some of the Romney people and I said do you have any idea that you are now invisible? Alright, no one is paying attention to you.”
Obama, on the other hand, was seen out there trying to help victims, O’Reilly said.
“I don't think that registered on the Romney people. But, in the exit polls tonight, that is a factor that President Obama looked bipartisan and presidential during that storm,” he said.
He said the Romney campaign took no chances. “They didn't go on talk radio. They didn't go on national programs outside of football game interviews which mean nothing. They thought that they did well enough in the debates to roll in. And, you know what? They were right, except for Hurricane Sandy.”

I am beginning to wonder if the USA will see the return of 'Blacks Only' toilets, hotels and restaurants and white folks using the back entrance? America's people of colour must surely , now, realise that the power of the ballot box lies within their remit. That realisation should surely make the Republicans realise that they MUST pass President Obama's reforms IF they wish to remain relevant in USA politics. Obama led the Republicans to fall into their own ambush; a brilliantly conducted campaign. Too subliminal for the Republicans to recognise until it was too late. 8-)

Seanmor - Goggle Grant Wood's painting "Daughter's of Revolution" and read about the sgnifigance of the objects in the room with the three ladies having tea.
EphraimKibbey | Nov 09, 2012, 02:55 AM EST
Seanmor - My wife's mother was also in the DAR as was my mother. Mine was also in the Daughters of the American Colonists as she was descended from John Howland a Pilgrim on the Mayflower. I'm not sure why this is important to you. While I love searching for my ancestors, I certainly do not believe that living here longer gives me any inate claim to be more deserving of America's blessings than you who are naturalized or any newly arrived freedom seeker. If this is your belief, shouldn't you be for turning the country over to the native Americans who have been here the longest? The vitality of this country has always been its immigrants. And while many of its early citizens were monolithic, it is interesting that Ben Franklin belonged not only to a church but also to a mosque and to a synogogue in Philly. The OTHER people have always been here contributing to our greatness but some how they were left out of the American story that we taught our children for so long. As one of those from the sixties generation (b.1949), we are very glad to see the "Traditional American's" rear end. Bigotry, don't let the door hit you on your way out. We only ask why has it taken so long for love to kick hate out?
stmungo | Nov 08, 2012, 08:01 PM EST
Well Billy Boy, now you know how the American Indian feels!
Commonsence | Nov 08, 2012, 05:16 PM EST
Right off my opinion of O'Reilly is...he's a wind bag. I can't imagine him ever teaching school or maybe I can and those poor kids exposed to the pompous ass not having a chance to learn anything accurate. Virtually every historian of any note has panned his book on Lincoln, "it's full of inaccuracies and shows limited research". So why should anyone give credence to his opinion on what "traditional" America should look like. 71% of the voters were white, he's just upset that 32% of them voted for the President! What's he afraid off immigrants?
rose528 | Nov 08, 2012, 02:14 PM EST
Since America stands for freedom it shouldn't be a white controlled Nation it is America land of the free. I am a white person and I'm glad it is not "a white America" any more.
Seanmor | Nov 08, 2012, 01:02 PM EST
It is unfortunate but true that that the "traditional America" of which Bill O'Reilly speaks in fast disappearing. Two months ago the D.A.R. chapter to which my wife belongs (having ancestors on both sides who fought the Briish in the Revolutionary War) held a meeting here in our livingroom, where their guest speaker gave a talk on of the U.S Constitution and its 39 signers (at least 3, if not 4 of whom were were Irish natives). The speaker said that all the signatories were male, white Christians - no Afroes, Hispanics, Asians or Native Americns. Much of this traditional America was still in existence when Jack Kennedy was our President, and I was proud to have him as my Commander-in-Chief for almost 3 of my 4 years in the Marine Corps (as an Irish citizen). Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm glad that I always respected and obeyed the laws of this great nation as a resident alien and later as a U.S. citizen. Rewarding ILLEGAl aliens,by granting them full amnesty and gifting then citizenship in most unfair to those of up who always play by the rules, and it gives the green light to countless millions of other would-be immigrants to come here illigally and expect similar rewards. Apparently those who support Obama approve of illegal aeniens obtaining free health care in emergency rooms, while I and many other vterans who honorably served the nation must pay $50. for every vist to a V.A. hospital.
BrianO | Nov 08, 2012, 12:47 PM EST
How are the inner city blacks doing after 4 years of obama? Are they better off? Ephraim the times are not a changing for them, just good voters to keep poor and dependent in the modern plantation of the inner city.
eiriamach | Nov 08, 2012, 11:52 AM EST
NO, Kilgara, those born before 1956 know what life was like for non-whites under Jim Crow in the South and rampant discrimination in the North. They know what second-class citizenship was like for women. They protested and worked for "our morals, our decency and a lot of our freedoms" and won some important battles--ending an unjust war and demanding equality in our institutions. Your ridiculous 'post hoc ergo propter hoc' way of thinking shows us in which era your mind is stuck. "Chaos and breakdown" began as backlash and continue now as illustrated by your contempt for core American values.
maireadinmelb | Nov 08, 2012, 05:17 AM EST
Here is a little secret Bill - Lots of white people voted for Obama too! Because they have an understanding and respect for what made america the great place you talk of! All those whites are descendent from MIGRANTS!!! Migrants just come from different places now!! Get used to it!!
thetint | Nov 08, 2012, 05:12 AM EST
The Sioux, the Cheyenne, etcetera know how you feel.
kilgara | Nov 08, 2012, 01:08 AM EST
You have to have been born before 1956 to have witnessed what a truly great country we once had.So anyone born after that time has only seen a steady deteriation in almost every aspect of American life. We have slowly but surely lost our morals, our decency and a lot of our freedoms.A large part of the blame lies with the sixties generation who trashed what was previously held sacred , but had no answer as to what to replace it with . Chaos and the breakdown of American society soon followed. The generations that followed are for the most part clueless and amoral and that is why they vote in a total zero like Obama, worst president ever.We are well on our way to becoming a third-world sump hole. God save Ireland and America.
Proud Canadian2 | Nov 07, 2012, 11:23 PM EST
Scriviner when there is a disaster you don't sit back no matter what. George Warmunger Bush didn't move very fast when told of 911 either, was there a Demacratic what do call it keeping him from that too. Obama didn't let anything keep him from going to see the distruction of Sandy. Good try but not good enough to beat this Canuck, try harder next time.

DsM2shoes you must have your head up your rear end if you believe Irish Central swoons over Fox or Bill O'Reilly and I am not a fan of O'Dowd or his fellow followers
DsM2shoes | Nov 07, 2012, 10:33 PM EST
Whites in the minority? When was the last time you looked at your spots for the "Gathering"? And besides Bill O'Reilly is an idiot. Works for Fox, the most misinformed group of dolts every to assemble. Just because someone has an apostrophe in his last name and is on television does not make them knowledgeable. When is Irish Central going to pull its head out of its collective rear end and stop swooning over the like of O'Reilly and the other so called "Irish" on Fox?
staker42 | Nov 07, 2012, 10:16 PM EST
O'Reilly is right. All liberal rats are coming out of your hole. But you will rue this day when old whitey , hard working tax payer decides I've had enough and joins all the takers. After yesterday America has seen its best days.
bonjouryall | Nov 07, 2012, 08:39 PM EST
The wolves could sense the fear in the white man and smelled the money. They pounced but found only a maxed out credit card and $40, which they quicky devoured, leaving the credit card for his widow. They returned to their black master still hungry. Don't worry, Inri, Conner, and Kibbey, he said, petting their heads. Tomorrow, you'll get that fat white millionaire and feed for a year.
EphraimKibbey | Nov 07, 2012, 08:27 PM EST
Bill, you are not quite correct. Whites are not yet a minority. Bigoted, greedy, self-centered whites ARE becoming a minority and shrinking fast. More and more whites are growing up in a multicultural society, just do not get you relics and you relics keep dying off. Soon you will go the way of the dinosaurs. School kids will come to see you in a museum! The times they are a changin'.
S.Connolly | Nov 07, 2012, 07:52 PM EST
This jerk can't even remember history! "traditional America" is all the dead Native American Indians we "white" people slaughtered along with the bison. Native Americans still live in "their country" in horrible conditions and bad schools. Their existence is America's version of Hitler's death camps and the Holocaust. Shame on every politician that has tribes in their states. They deserve better. Feed O'Reilly to the pigs.
Strongbow | Nov 07, 2012, 07:30 PM EST
That's what the WASPS said when the Irish swarmed the ports of New England 160 years ago. The "traditional" order was subverted. O'Reilly is also echoing what Southern planters realized when the ante-bellum South came face to face with Emancipation. This guy is an Ivy League graduate?
Seanmor | Nov 07, 2012, 07:16 PM EST
Bill O'Reilly is correct is stating: "Its not a traditional America anymore". It is certainly not the America in whose Marine Corps I served -as an Irish citizebn - in the 1960s. As marines we were expected to know the Code of Conduct, the first article of which states: "I am a United State fighting man. I serve in the forces that protect our country and out was of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense". In those good old days "our way of life" did NOT include a host of benefits for illegal aliens. To my knowledge no politician, prelate or journalist was campaigning in behalf of law-abiding,tax-paying military-serving legal immigrants, much less for illegal aliens, and there no restrictions on our Constitutional rights to freedom of religion.
pmaceinri | Nov 07, 2012, 06:33 PM EST
refreshing to read most of these comments and to see that Irish America recognises what a total, racist a..hole this guy is - and so last century. Roll on immigration reform!
sqeyes48 | Nov 07, 2012, 06:21 PM EST
Bill, Bill, Bill, Don't look in the mirror, just finger point. This is the same person who tells the director to "cut the mike" of a guest who he disagrees with. I have no idea why anyone would trust his judgment on anything of any importance above dog catcher.
hollabackgurl | Nov 07, 2012, 05:37 PM EST
This wasn't about race, this was a rejection of the backward bigoted whit picket fence for me and self-deportation for you GOP/Romney policies. The smartest of them already know that.
seanomelb | Nov 07, 2012, 05:12 PM EST
Eamonn is sad today and in denial to boot. Obama wants to lift people out of poverty and protect the middle class so they can have the same choice's as the sons and daughters of the rich. The "whites" O'Reilly talks about (of which he is one)want it all,how unchristian of them and O'Reilly.
Scrivner | Nov 07, 2012, 04:52 PM EST
If whites are the new minority, do we now get set-asides? Hey, Proud Canuk, it took Bush 2-3 days to send Federal help because the Democrat Governor of Louisiana and the Democrat Mayor of New Orleans at that time did not ask for the help, which, in a federal system, is prerequisite to sending in Federal forces (FEMA, Army, Navy, etc). If Georgie had just sent in troops, he would have been pilloried for over riding duly elected Democrat local officials.
Proud Canadian2 | Nov 07, 2012, 03:51 PM EST
Hey Bill that seems like a Repulican trait to stay away from disasters after all did it not take George Warmunger Bush two or three days to go to Katrina, just asking. I don't think that the whites are in the minority, I just think that the younger whites are getting that it isn't right to be racists and bigots like the Republican Party would like them to be. What is wrong with asking the government for stuff as you say after all who is the government in a Democracy, Government for the people, by the people and of the people isn't that what it says, just asking. We can't and don't have lots of people with millions of dollars in there pockets so those who have should help those who don't have.
miamicanes | Nov 07, 2012, 02:42 PM EST
Isn't this the same guy who got caught with sending suggestive immoral saying to a female over his cell. What a jackxxx, sore losers will always be sore losers. Seems like the females and immigrants weren't what the repub white boys were looking for to vote. o'riley belongs with the two assxxxx who said legitimate rape was ok and what happened to them, OUT.

SO ,as expected Big Mouth Bill O' blames Sandy for defeating Romney ????Sorry Bill O' but the days of racism for you and your mouthpieces on Fox are OVER ,Thank God. I hope and pray that the republican party will wake up and find the meaning of crossing the aisle and "COMPROMISE" and ,for starters get rid of those two bigots,Mitch Mc.Connell and John Boehner. AND, the Democrats should get rid of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed,GOD BLESS AMERICA and GUIDE HER.
naughtius | Nov 07, 2012, 12:51 PM EST
Well one thing we can be sure of is that all the pundits who predicted things wrongly won't be asked back to the entertainment network O'Reilly works for. There's now way people who got things so wrong wwould be allowed back, amiright?
lokionline | Nov 07, 2012, 12:49 PM EST
All eyes on the congress now. How they conduct business in the coming year will determine the congressional mid-terms in 2014. Tea party congress members will be under a lot of scrutiny, if they are seen as obstructionist and not working with the White House and the Senate to solve some of the most pressing fiscal issues, they will pay a price in 2014.
PhlutiePhan | Nov 07, 2012, 12:45 PM EST
@eiramach@ As far as your comment on CEOs is concerned, the Marxist "express" will now take care of that. The first step is to merge the lower and middle class. This will be followed by the taking over of the "means of production". The "opiate of the people" has very well been compromised. During the election, the Catholic bishops "hid under the kitchen table" except for Jenky and Nickless of Iowa. The "gay priests associations" in each diocese made their presence felt as well as the radical feminist nuns who are evidently in favor of abortion.

Some people want to do the best for themselves and their families. To enable them to do this, most of these people realise they have to work - and work hard and/or smart. Then we have the other sort, the ones who just want the handouts - the money that droppeth like manna from the heavens. Nobody minds immigrants who are prepared to work for their money - almost everybody in the USA has their genesis in immigration. Some work hard/smart - some don't want to work at all. The people who don't want to work voted for Obama, because he will dispense the manna in order to "redistribute" it, as he calls it. Along with those who don't want to work - just take - are those who feel good about themselves when they thread the "politically correct" path in self-rightitude, and look down their supercilious noses at those of us who believe in self-sufficiency whilst also assisting those who CANNOT work. The takers and the PC brigade voted for Obama in their herded droves, corralled by the sheepdog media. The problem arrives when the good River Obamamoney runs dry - then it's up the creek without a paddle, or, as in this case, without even any water to sail the boat. The future of the United States - and, yes, my own Europe (for the same reasons) is bleak indeed. Now, back to work ....... Éamonn, Dublin, Ireland.
cillowen | Nov 07, 2012, 10:54 AM EST
the north south divide with browns flowing into the salad bowl mix - a mode that reveals the (both side) racism that the election numbers hint at by the 50/50 outcome. The 99 percenter and 1 percenters were/are largely in harmony on this. It went to extremes in that a believer of an alien planet for all of us came close to being the lead of us. Norquist, where is he hiding, now. O'Reilly is whistling Dixie and makes out like a bandit - who buys his snake oil - I don't.
1661996usmc | Nov 07, 2012, 10:28 AM EST
O'Reilly should run in 2016 and try to use the same logic that Romney used in defeat. We are a nation of immigrants from all parts of the world, not just Europe. My ancestors came from Ireland like his and they worked with all types of immigrants and were successful.
olovely | Nov 07, 2012, 10:19 AM EST
Politico had a column the other day saying that Obama doesn't have a mandate if he wins because he won't have the support from white males. They forgot to add, that if Romney won, he wouldn't have a mandate either because he didn't get support from everyone else. Go figure. This racial stuff is bogus. Romney lost because less people voted for his policies.
eiriamach | Nov 07, 2012, 10:12 AM EST
"The white establishment is now the minority.” Really? I recommend that O'Reilly take a look at the faces of elected officials in DC and in the states, as well as the faces of corporate CEOs around the country and the faces of millionaires who fund the super PACs. But we can hope that they are beginning to realize that the less powerful are asserting the one power they still (most of then) have left-- the power of the vote. It would do little good to replace all the white male power brokers with truly representative ethnic- and gender-diverse power brokers if we do not also educate white America NOT to think in terms of wealthy white males in control.
slainte9 | Nov 07, 2012, 09:52 AM EST
When the dust settles you'll find that Obama would not have won without a significant portion of the white Catholic vote: Bidens, Gilligan-Sebeliuses, and Cuomos. With a boost from the Christy and Bloomburg crowd.
queenmac1 | Nov 07, 2012, 09:43 AM EST
I think it is very much a traditional America. We were founded by immigrants and first generation Americans! It is time to get the "good ole boys club" out of there! They have not been doing such a great job of late! And we do not need another Kennedy! What were they thinking? I want new blood in Congress and we keep voting in the same old people! I don't care who is President, it is Congress that needs a change!
