FOX news anchor Bill O’Reilly had, not surprisingly, a few comments to follow yesterday’s ruling in California by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn Proposition 8, which banned gay marriage in the state back in 2008.
The Huffington Post reports on O’Reilly’s sit-down with analysts Lis Wiehl and Kimberly Guilfoyle.

________________
“Basically, just two judges said, 'you know what?' We don't really care about yooouu!,” said O’Reilly, referencing the voters choice to pass Proposition 8 in 2008. He continued, "What you want really doesn't matter, because we say this is unconstitutional to deny gays the right to marry."
"Voters don't count or matter if voters take away a benefit that was bestowed on a group of people,” responded analyst Wiehl, “without a legitimate reason to further a state interest. These two judges could find no legitimate reason.”
O’Reilly then went on to argue that nowhere in the Constitution is marriage between any two people a given right, therefore making the recent California decision on Prop 8 nonsensical.

Whether same-sex marriages be gay or dull, millions such as Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly will never accept them, and will also oppose polygamy, incest and pedophelia, even if those immoral activities are also legalized by lesgislatures and approved by the courts.

What is this bigoted loudmouth afraid of?
SeamusMartin | Feb 11, 2012, 12:21 PM EST
PS -- also remember that Faux News is just that -- fake. Any organization that continually states its "fair and balanced" is an organization that spreads propaganda and needs the utmost scrutiny applied to it. As and Irishman I am ashamed of O'Reilly & Hannity And the rest of the Faux News team buffoons.

I've once was anti-gay marriage, but as I've age and I think grown wiser I see friends I grew up with and a few are gay. Other friends have gay offspring which they still find hard to talk about because of the haters out there. I think that my gay friends and the gay offspring of other friends should be able to share a life with a significant other. Now, I don't care if it's called marriage or civil union, both are ok with me. However, it ain't about me. Blessed Are The Peacemakers.

I love my dog, does that work?
ciaradexy | Feb 10, 2012, 12:37 PM EST
'Marriage' is what happens after a wedding. It doesnt matter who its between. Love is love regardless.
Buffalobrave | Feb 10, 2012, 11:06 AM EST
22Tango; We have evolved already, that's why we are well above the basic animal level. As far as hating anyone, that's a blatant lie. But it's a worn out argument people like you use, to defend the indefensible. You should be the one to evolve, and elevate yourself above the gutter level.
jack4950 | Feb 10, 2012, 10:03 AM EST
Bill: you or your kind are not invited to the wedding. Now get over it.
22Tango | Feb 10, 2012, 09:32 AM EST
Every man and woman has a right to marry when they meet the person they want to spend their life with -- it doesn't matter gay or straight -- stop hating on one group. Evolve already.
Buffalobrave | Feb 10, 2012, 06:25 AM EST
No one is denying gays the right to marry. They have as much right to marry as anyone. The problem arises when they want to marry each other. Two men or two women marrying each other are abnormal and disgusting. People should get their collective minds out of the gutter. I'm not a Bill O'Reilly fan, but he's right on this one.
kerry214 | Feb 10, 2012, 02:44 AM EST
Oh, Bill . You are so yesterday.
darrenokeffee | Feb 09, 2012, 09:10 PM EST
i've 2 kids and 1 of them both of them or non of them could be gay and i would love them either way, however if a thing is put to the vote and its rejected thats democracey people might not like it but it sure beats the alterative and its up to them to then argue the case because when something like this happens it alienates there case because ordinary joe's think rightly or wrongly that something they disagree with is being forced on them and gay people damage what they feel is a legit right i personally feel that it should'nt be allowed but i would'nt argue forcefully agin it and if it came into force in ireland through the ballot box i would'nt lose any sleep over it either and come on guys, this is someone off fox news for christ sake!!!
irishpjk | Feb 09, 2012, 08:52 PM EST
The word MARRAGE has always meant one man and one woman, did someone change the meaning of the word if not then it is not a marriage. If I go to an apple tree pick fruit of it and say here is an orange for you did the fruit change? No it is not an orange and it never will be. So why are normal people so upset by all this? Making love is between a man and a woman and can produce a new life, so two people of the same sex can call it what they like but if they can’t reproduce, normal people know what to call. There is a slow child on our block when he comes to our house on his bicycle he makes motor cycle sounds and parks what he calls his motor bike in the driveway, but normal people know what it’s a bicycle. So don’t get yourself worked up over these people show them a little sympathy like we do with the slow young lad. In time some of them will wise up not all, but one good thing the ones that don’t will not reproduce, and remember this like the young lad they just want to be noticed that makes them feel special, pay them no attention and this too will pass.

In Every state where "Gay Marriage" was put on the ballot the people overwhelmingly rejected it. So now Gay activists subvert democracy(the will of the people) and shop liberal judges, In fact the judge who referred it was gay himself. A conflict of interest? I would say. Secularists are blinded by their ill formed consciences and don't see the threat that is created by revising a relationship that has been central to the survival and prosperity of the human race since it's inception. Natural law(God's law) can not be violated without consequences. History proves this: Ancient Rome, Greece, Sodom, Gamorh, Babylon..Of course to moral relativists this is archaic thinking. Consider that up until about 40 years ago this was the general world view embedded in man's conscience by our creator.
jamieLM | Feb 09, 2012, 05:55 PM EST
I don't get it. Why are some people so threatened by gay people being allowed to marry? There have been countless gay couples who've been married in states that allow it. None of these gay marriages have had any affect on my husband, me, and our marriage. No one has the right to impose their religious beliefs on others or deny others the right to marry the person they love. For all those anti-gay marriage people - get over it.
ciaradexy | Feb 09, 2012, 04:55 PM EST
If he doesnt approve of gay marriage, then he shouldnt ever marry another man. We cant control who we are attracted too! If we could then none of us would ever have suffered heart break!
DannyBoyG | Feb 09, 2012, 04:38 PM EST
What a special edition of Irish Central this is ....indeed!! An idea here...lets put Bill O'Reilly, Pope Benedict, Soon to be Cardinal Dolan, Cardinal Egan all in a padlocked room. Last man standing gets to leave. Hopefully...they knock each other silly and stay where they are in ... "La La Land"...
alisaann | Feb 09, 2012, 03:00 PM EST
this is about EQUAL CIVIL RIGHTS....not special laws or rights.....why shouldn't 2 people of the same gender be allowed to MARRY and have ALL the same rights and such as hetrosexual couples?....who is it gonna HURT?....and please, leave the bible out of it. alisa
alisaann | Feb 09, 2012, 02:03 PM EST
O'Reilly hardly qualifies to speak on the sanctity of marriage given his dismal record. The GOP goons should keep out of other peoples bedrooms and respecr the rights of LBGT's.
BishopSean | Feb 09, 2012, 01:48 PM EST
This is another case, like Roe v. Wade, where judges are legislating from the bench. This was Jefferson's greatest nightmare.
ProudCanadian | Feb 09, 2012, 01:29 PM EST
As usual O'Reilly is always right and everyone else is wrong, what a Genius. I have a couple of Golden Retreivers that have more intelligence then this Republican moron. I wonder why he isn't running for the office of the President like the other Repulican morons.
Nicomax | Feb 09, 2012, 12:50 PM EST
In the mid-1960's, close to 70% of Americans were against allowing people of different races to marry. The Supreme Court in Loving v. Virginia said that violated the constitution's right to equal protection under the law. That is essentially what the Ninth District Court said about same-sex marriage in California. Again, the "Leave it to Beaver" crowd has a lot of settled law to overcome to accomplish their goal of limiting rights to a selected group only.
snakehips | Feb 09, 2012, 12:37 PM EST
O'Reilly is a Constituional Scholar now? What if I get a majority of people to vote to boil him in chicken grease? Would that make it right just because I had a majority to vote that way? What a buffoon! As my Dear Old Irish Mother used to say: "Ignorance is Bliss"
slainte39 | Feb 09, 2012, 11:32 AM EST
How many people would really say that homosexuality is in the same category with pedophilia, incest, or polygamy? I, a straight, certainly would not, and the latter three are civil, secular criminal conduct. IMO..warped thinking.
rugbyplayer | Feb 09, 2012, 10:18 AM EST
O'Reilly's rants and screams follow the same scripts as two of his loud-mouthed(now deceased predecessors), Joe Pine and M.Downey,Jr. whose tv guests were lured onto their shows only to be embarrassed and shamefully heckled by Pine and Downey. O'Reilly is just a well-paid buffoon like the rest of his FOX News mendacious cohorts.
hollabackgurl | Feb 09, 2012, 09:38 AM EST
From the start of his career, whenever O'Reilly has realized he's lost an argument, he starts yelling. That's what makes me know this is a performance. He should worry more about the state of his own marriage, which reportedly could use some help.
CaptainCon | Feb 09, 2012, 09:36 AM EST
Someone must have told O'Reilly his willy will fall off if gays are allowed to marry. Thats the only thing I can think of. Why would it affect Bill O'Reilly's life in any way?
KSERRAHN | Feb 09, 2012, 08:57 AM EST
Why not let them marry. Who is it really hurting.
